Chapter 4: The Gaming Challenge
Setting: Rica’s apartment, filled with RGB lights and gaming posters. Mico’s there, holding a controller awkwardly.
Rica: “You sure you want to try Valorant? It’s not like writing a poem.”
Mico: “How hard can it be? Point, shoot, win. Right?”
Rica (smirking): “Oh, you’re so dead.”
They play a custom match. Mico’s terrible, dying repeatedly, while Rica’s racking up kills.
Mico: “This is rigged! Why’s everyone so fast?”
Rica (laughing): “You’re just slow! Try aiming, poet boy.”
Mico: “Okay, how about a deal? If I get one kill, you read one of my poems.”
Rica: “Fine, but you’re not getting a kill.”
Miraculously, Mico lands a lucky headshot.
Mico (triumphant): “Ha! Poem time, Rica!”
Rica (groaning): “Ugh, you cheated somehow. Fine, read it.”
Mico pulls out a notebook and reads a playful poem about a “gamer girl with a fiery heart.” Rica’s flustered but secretly charmed.
Rica: “That was… okay, I guess. Don’t get cocky.”
Mico: “Too late. I’m writing a sequel already.”
Chapter 5: The Festival Flirt
Setting: A vibrant lantern festival in Shanghai, with glowing lights and street food stalls. Rica and Mico wander together.
Rica: “This place is amazing! Look at those lanterns!”
Mico: “It’s like a scene from a movie. Want to make a wish on a lantern?”
Rica: “A wish? Isn’t that kinda cheesy?”
Mico: “Cheesy’s my specialty. Come on, humor me.”
They write wishes on a lantern. Rica sneaks a glance at Mico’s, which reads, “To tease a certain gamer forever.”
Rica (pretending to be mad): “Mico! That’s your wish? To annoy me?”
Mico: “What can I say? Your reactions are adorable.”
Rica: “You’re impossible. My wish was for you to stop teasing me.”
Mico (grinning): “Liar. I bet it was about me.”
Rica shoves him playfully, but their hands brush, and they both freeze, hearts racing.
Rica (nervous): “Uh, let’s get some dumplings.”
Mico: “Smooth change of subject, Rica.”
Chapter 6: The Poem Problem
Setting: The university library. Rica’s studying, but Mico slides a folded paper across her table.
Rica: “What’s this? Another poem?”
Mico: “Yup. But this one’s special. Read it when you’re alone.”
Rica (suspicious): “Why? Is it gonna make me cry like your dumb movies?”
Mico: “Maybe. Or maybe it’ll make you blush.”
Later, Rica reads the poem. It’s heartfelt, describing a girl whose passion and quirks make his world brighter. She realizes it’s about her.
Rica (to herself): “He is not just teasing anymore, is he? Oh no, I’m in deep.”
She texts Mico.
Rica: “Your poem's… not terrible. But don't think this means I like you or anything, okay?"
Mico (replying): “Sure, Rica. Keep telling yourself that.”
Rica groans, but she’s smiling. She started to think that maybe there is good news in next days or maybe tomorrow. She's hoping for it.
