Chapter 4 : Subtle Indicator of change

" Few Days Later||

Ethan is out for a business trip. After Niva's birth, it's the first time Ethan goes on a long business trip. It feels like a breath of fresh air to Elena as she can finally feel herself in the absence of Ethan. It's not like before, as she she used to wait for him to back or reluctant to let him go for long..

 "What an irony before the person brings peach now reason of my chaotic heart." She thought and sighed while sitting on the couch, and Niva was playing on the floor

That time, Elena's phone rings. It's one of her best friends, Sunflower.

Elena picks the call

"Hey Elena," Sunflower said cheerfully.

"Hey," Elena replied.

"Girl, I and Sammy are going to the musical gala tonight. Are you coming?" Sunflower said.

Elena paused, and her heart skipped a beat when she heard that she remembered how she likes artistic things and soft melodies. But she forgot when last she attended anything like this. As with Ethan, she literally just molded herself like him. After marriage, it's more likely family things on her mind instead of her own liking.

"Hello Elena.. Are you there , hello, hello ?" Sunflower asked through the call

Elena snapped out from her thoughts

"Y.. yeah, Sun.. I.. am here, " Elena replied with Little Shuttering..

"So, are you coming with us?" Sunflower asked again

"Sun,you know Ethan doesn't like all this beside that I have Niva now.. you know, being a mother.." Elena said

"But I asked about you, not him, you like it.." Sunflower said firmly

Elena paused again

"Elena come one it's long you think about yourself..where that strong independent defendant girl I and Sammy knows..Ethan, you married to him even you started dating him you didn't even realise how much you changed and not for yourself for Ethan.. you think we can't understand the situation we can, no matter how you tried to hide it, and you adapt his likings, but did he do the same for you? " As Sunflower continued

Elena, listen, her heart seems heavy. Yes, she remembered how she did change little by little, but Ethan didn't adapt her likings.. As if it's the bitter truth she avoided and not wanting to admit..

"Sun, it's not like.. Ethan..Ethan is just..just different " Elena weakly defends him

"Elena, I know you love him, but you need to see now.. acknowledge the toxicity. " Sunflower exclaimed..

Elena again paused and looked at Little Niva playing on the floor.. who looked like her father, Ethan

"Elena, are you coming with us? Come on, relive and find yourself again. and more over, he is out of the state now, "Sunflower said firmly, but softness in her voice was evident..

Elena listened but contemplated her thoughts. Elena thought about Ethan's behavior recently and subtle signals in the past, which she never thought before.the times when Ethan subtle disrespected her called her choice boring . Made subtly fun of her music taste and the musical nights gala she used to attend with her best friends Sammy and Sunflower, but that time she was blinded with the love. Elena remembered the times she started to hang out with Ethan's friends just for him and spend less and less time with her own best friends who were more likely to sisters to her but she always used to updated everything about her life to them.. and they always understood and stayed beside her and supported. How they were crying shoulder for her yet supported her decision in love though they were skeptical about Ethan from the very start.Elena used to be strong level headed practical less but soft spoken girl, but once she started dating Ethan. she became more and into him, where she left the rationality behind. Elena, reeling everything in her mind, a voice comes through the phone calling her name

"Elena are you there hello Elena can you hear me what you decide then" It's Sunflower 's voice as Elena drawn in her thoughts her voice broke the dazed of the reeling memories as Elena snapped out from her thoughts.

"I am coming." With a shaky voice, Elena agreed, her voice filled with dread and nervousness. It's long since she is going somewhere, which she likes

"That's our girl.." Sunflower exclaimed cheerfully

"When ? when is this gala? Butapologi

"When? when is the timing of the Gala? " Elena asked

"mm 6.30 pm at New York City Center," Sunflower replied

"I will be there on time," Elena said, an unconscious smile spread on her lips

"Perfect," Sunflower said happily..

This chapter isn't very interesting, but it's the subtle base to the forward of changing how small talks and incidents leave a deep impact, also connecting bridge part of the new beginning..
