Awakening

The weight of her destiny settled in Peace’s heart like a stone. The prophecy foretold her rise, but also an impending doom—one she couldn’t yet understand.

Her blood was said to hold power capable of shaping the fate of all supernatural beings. And now, the entire world was watching.

Lucian, the vampire, stood before her. His gaze was sharp, calculating, but not hostile.

“You don’t have time to hesitate,” he said. “The creatures of the ten rays are already moving—some to seek your guidance, others to hunt you down.”

Lutecia placed a firm hand on Peace’s shoulder. “You must leave this place,” she warned. “Here, you are vulnerable. They will come for you soon.”

Peace swallowed hard. Fear twisted in her gut, but she nodded. “Where do I go?”

Lucian glanced toward the window, where shadows flickered beyond the trees.

“I can take you to the Ancient Sanctum—one of the last neutral grounds left in Pitadel. It’s protected by enchantments so powerful that neither spirits nor demons can breach it. There, you can learn the truth about what you are.”

Peace narrowed her eyes. “And what do _you_ gain from helping me?”

Lucian smirked, but it did not reach his eyes. “I gain survival, like everyone else. If you fall into the wrong hands, the world will burn.”

A sudden noise shattered the tense silence. A low growl echoed from the darkness outside, followed by the distinct sound of rustling leaves.

“They’ve found you.” Lutecia whispered.

Without another word, Lucian moved. Fast. His vampire speed blurred his form as he threw open the doors.

His crimson eyes flickered in the night, scanning for movement. Then Peace saw them—two towering figures emerging from the trees.

Werewolves.

Their golden eyes gleamed with predatory intent.

“I knew you would come,” Lucian muttered.

The larger werewolf stepped forward. “You cannot take her, vampire. She belongs to our kind.”

Lucian chuckled darkly. “How predictable. The wolves want her, the witches want her, the elves whisper of her return… Everyone believes they have a right to the Supreme One. But tell me, do you even know why ?”

The second werewolf, smaller but quicker, stepped forward. “Her blood will restore the balance,” he said.

“For centuries, our kind has fought against extinction. Vampires grow stronger, witches meddle with time, spirits fade, and demons rise. Her blood… it is the key to our survival.”

Lucian shook his head. “And yet, none of you truly understand what will happen if you force her into your wars. The prophecy spoke of her ruling with peace, but also of destruction. Her existence is volatile —you cannot simply use her like a tool.”

Peace clenched her fists. She hated how they spoke of her, as if she were an object to be claimed.

“I won’t go with you.” Her voice was steady, defiant.

The larger werewolf snarled. “You don’t have a choice.”

Lucian’s fangs gleamed as he prepared for battle, but Peace took a bold step forward before the fight could begin.

“There is something you should know,” she said, her voice carrying an unexplainable force.

“Three thousand years ago, the prophecy was unfinished . It was not simply about a Queen bringing peace_it was also about the One who could end everything .”

The werewolves stiffened.

Lucian tilted his head slightly, intrigued. “And you… you think that’s you?”

Peace’s fingers curled. The markings on her skin pulsed again, their glow growing stronger.

“I don’t know what I am yet. But what I do know is that my blood isn’t meant for you.”

A gust of energy surged through the air. The trees trembled, and the ground beneath them cracked slightly.

The werewolves hesitated.

“She's already awakening.” Lucian murmured, a strange expression crossing his features. “That means others will sense it soon.”

---

And he was right. Across Pitadel, beings of all kinds felt it—a ripple in the balance, a force greater than any one faction could control.

The Supreme One was stepping into her fate, and war was coming.
