Dylan

" Mommy, look at what I found," I said, as my 6 years old feet ran to my mother while clutching a bunch of Daisies I had picked from our neighbors garden

" Dylan, where did you get those flowers from," my mom said, picking me up and placing me on her lap while I held up the Daisies to her nose so she could smell them

" Mrs Browns Garden Mommy," I say, looking up at my mother with so much love and admiration. Me and my mother where inseparable ever since birth. The main reasons for us being inseparable was because I wasn't always the best when it came to making friends or even being social and also my father was a lot of an @$$ most of my childhood and what I mean was he was abusive

He was the sheriff of our small town because the nearest police station was kilometers away from us, but unlike other sheriff who protected their families, he was extremely abusive he would come home late at night except my mom to cook him dinner sometimes he would even come with other women but when he did my mother was glad because then he wouldn't hit her or scold her about something ridiculous.

From a young age, I always wondered how they met or why my mother chose him out of all people. She had a model like figure and hazel eyes, pearly white teeth with beautiful dirty blonde hair while my father was short and scruby and he was basically bolding too, he had yellow teeth and basic brown eyes ,but whenever I asked, she would always dismiss the conversation and something around the lines of

"You too little to know all that grown-up stuff dear ," or she would say

" I'll tell you one day when you are much bigger," she would say these things , with a smile on her face but pain written all over it , so growing upI learned not to mention it to her seeing it made her sad.

" Dylan, my sweetypie, did you ask Mrs Brown if you could pick her Daisies," She said in her soft princess like voice

" I didn't think she would mind," I said, shrugging my shoulders

" But Dylan, you must always remember to ask before you take something that isn't yours, okay pumpkin," She said, ruffling my hair while smiling so brightly at me

" Okay, Mommy, I will ask next time before I take,"

I say, looking at the flowers in guilt

" That's my boy, and don't worry, this was just an honest mistake. You'll learn from this, right? " She as she looked at me so playfully as I nodded

" Well done now, let's go find somewhere in the house to put these beautiful flowers," She said as my face instantly lit up in joy

She picked me up from her lap while she stood up from her chair and walked into the house, closing the porch door behind us and heading straight to her bedroom

She walked in, placing me on the bed while she opened a floor board under the bed that contained a jewelry box

" Here, put your flowers next to my jewelry," she said. as I noticed something that was unusual for a jewelry box, it had not only jewelry but cash in it

" Mommy, why is there money in there too," I said while placing the Daisies next to a pearl necklace I once saw my mom wearing

As she closed the box, putting back away under the floorboard she spoke more calm then usual

" Well, Dylan Mommy is saving up for a holiday where you and I will go on soon," She said those words but little did I know, that money was the Mommy she was planning on using to run away with but the only flaw in this plan was that she was 4 months pregnant with my baby brother yet I hadn't known because one thing I can tell you about my mother is she will always lie to you to protect you from the truth.
