Forgotten The Patient

A boy was running in the university's corridors. Students didn't mind him as it was the time when everyone was busy selecting their assignments and submitting them. Minjun was a student of the neuro department. He had to submit his assignment within 3 weeks and he hadn't even decided on the topic of his research ......so he was running towards the patient's record room.......He huffed and breathed fast. After taking the most required short break, he started to go through the patient's records. Finally, after one and a half hours, a file attracted his interest. KIM V.

ANTEROGRADE AMNESIA SHORT-TERM MEMORY LOSS

Minjun was captivated by this man, he didn't know why, but he wanted to know more about him. He reached the professor's cabin for the final step and after his green signal he could start his research but to his surprise his professor immediately rejected it. His professor advised him to forget about this case and when Minjun questioned why as this was an interesting case, his professor informed him that this case involved the police. Minjun was shocked, but he was not ready to drop it easily. He insisted but his professor gave him a warning that he would inform his parents, so he half-heartedly agreed.

Being a curious creature he made a sulky face and asked his professor more about the case out of curiosity ...so his professor told him about the patient..........perks of being a topper and everybody's favourites......so back to the story.

His professor told him that the real name of V was not known to the world. He was admitted to the hospital one year ago (in April 2023) and not much is known about him. He was hit on the head with an iron rod something like a hammer and after the incident, he lost his memory.

At present time he was not under the care of our department because his brother transferred him to another facility a week later, and now (at present time) he was unable to remember anything. His condition is known as anterograde amnesia, which is a type of short-term memory loss. V remembered events for only about 15 minutes, and then he forget everything. He recalled only bits and fragments of the incident when he was attacked. He could still perform routine tasks. Small tasks like eating, drinking, driving, also his feelings lie embedded in his subconscious mind. He remembered his daily routine by writing.......and about the incident, no one knows what happened that day, unfortunately, V didn't even recall the face of the assailant.

Minjun was fascinated by the case, he wanted to know more.....After coming back from the professor's cabin, he was thinking about V. He wondered......how could someone live on like this and what V was doing at this moment.....
