CHAPTER 4 THE CONFRONTATION

Ava's heart was racing as she leaned forward, her eyes locked onto Liam's. She had a feeling that what he was about to tell her would change everything.

"I'm not who you think I am," Liam said, his voice low and husky.

Ava's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice firm.

Liam hesitated, his eyes darting back and forth. "My father... he's not just a businessman," he said finally. "He's involved in some...unsavory activities."

Ava's heart skipped a beat. She had suspected as much, but to hear Liam admit it was a shock.

"What kind of activities?" Ava asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Liam's eyes locked onto hers. "He's involved in organized crime," he said, his voice firm. "And I'm...I'm a part of it."

Ava felt like she had been punched in the gut. She had known that Liam was hiding something, but she had never suspected that he was involved in organized crime.

"Why are you telling me this?" Ava asked, her voice shaking.

Liam's eyes locked onto hers. "Because I want you to know the truth," he said, his voice firm. "I want you to know who I really am."

Ava felt a wave of emotions wash over her. She was angry, hurt, and confused. But most of all, she was scared.

"What do you want from me?" Ava asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Liam's eyes locked onto hers. "I want your help," he said, his voice firm. "I want to take down my father's organization, and I need your help to do it."

Ava's heart skipped a beat. She had never been one to back down from a challenge, but this was different. This was an organized crime.

"I don't know if I can help you," Ava said, her voice shaking.

Liam's eyes locked onto hers. "Please, Ava," he said, his voice firm. "I need your help. I need someone I can trust."

Ava felt a pang of guilt. She had been so quick to judge Liam, to assume the worst about him. But now, she saw him in a different light.

"Okay," Ava said finally, her voice firm. "I'll help you."

Liam's eyes flashed with relief, and he reached out to take Ava's hand. "Thank you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

As Ava looked into Liam's eyes, she felt a sense of trepidation. She knew that she was taking a risk by helping him, but she also knew that she couldn't turn her back on him.

With a sense of determination, Ava stood up, her eyes locked onto Liam's. "Let's do this," she said, her voice firm.

Liam's eyes flashed with excitement, and he stood up, his hand still holding Ava's. "Let's take down my father's organization," he said, his voice firm.

As they walked out of the coffee shop, Ava felt a sense of excitement mixed with fear. She knew that she was in for the ride of her life, and she wasn't sure if she was ready.
