A Deal with the Broken

---

📍 Scene 1: Seo Yoon-ah –

The silence of the mansion was suffocating.

Seo Yoon-ah sat in front of the vanity, staring at her reflection. The bruises on her neck were faint, but she could still feel his fingers there, pressing, claiming.

The bedroom door swung open with a loud bang.

Her husband, Kang Dae-jung, stood there, his shirt unbuttoned, tie hanging loose.

"Why the hell didn’t you answer my call?" he asked, voice dangerously low.

Yoon-ah swallowed. "I was in the shower."

His lips curled into a cruel smirk. "Liar."

Before she could react, he grabbed her wrist, yanking her up.

She winced. "Dae-jung, please—"

He twisted her arm behind her back, pressing her against the wall. His breath was hot against her ear.

"You belong to me, Yoon-ah. You understand that, right?"

Tears burned her eyes. Was this love?

Or was she just his prisoner?

📍 Scene 2: Choi Min-seo –

Min-seo hurried through the empty hallway, keeping her head down.

If she was fast enough, she could leave before—

Click.

The classroom door locked behind her.

She turned slowly.

Three boys. Two girls.

"Going somewhere?" one of the boys smirked.

Min-seo’s stomach twisted. "Please… just let me go."

The tallest boy chuckled. "Why? We’re just having fun."

Before she could react, one grabbed her wrist, pulling her close.

The girl in the group laughed. "Aren’t you tired of running, Min-seo?"

She struggled, but another boy yanked her bag away, tossing it to the side.

Fingers brushed against her waist. Too close.

Tears blurred her vision. Not again.

"STOP!" she screamed.

Laughter. No one was coming.

Then—

The door burst open.

A girl stood there, eyes blazing with fury.

"Let. Her. Go."

Min-seo had never seen her before. But at that moment, she wasn’t alone.

For the first time in forever…

Someone had come for her.

📍 Scene 3: Jung Hwan & Ji-hoon –

Jung Hwan sat on the pavement, staring at the empty food wrapper in his hands.

At least tonight, he wasn’t hungry.

A shadow loomed over him.

"You look like shit," Ji-hoon said, crouching beside him.

Jung Hwan scoffed. "Thanks for the compliment."

Ji-hoon grinned. "I have a proposal."

Jung Hwan sighed. "I already told you—I’m not training you."

Ji-hoon shook his head. "No. I want to train you."

Jung Hwan blinked. "What?"

Ji-hoon leaned in. "You used to be a fighter, right? But now you let kids beat you up and steal your money. That’s pathetic."

Jung Hwan’s jaw clenched.

Ji-hoon smirked. "So let me train you."

Jung Hwan scoffed. "A street punk like you? What do you know about real fighting?"

"More than you right now," Ji-hoon shot back. "At least I fight back."

Jung Hwan looked away.

Ji-hoon sighed and placed a plastic bag beside him. "Eat."

Jung Hwan hesitated. Inside was rice, meat, warm soup.

He grabbed it, eating in silence.

Ji-hoon smirked. "I’ll be back tomorrow."

Jung Hwan rolled his eyes. "Don’t bother."

But Ji-hoon did come back.

Every night.

Bringing food. Bringing conversation. Bringing an offer.

Jung Hwan kept saying no.

But somewhere in that endless cycle…

A bond was forming.

One neither of them could ignore.
