Love is supposed to be enough, isn't it? We are told that if we love deeply, sincerely, and selflessly, it should be enough to hold someone close. But what if it isn’t? What if love alone cannot make someone stay? The ache of giving your all and still watching someone walk away is a wound that never quite heals. It leaves you questioning: Was it me? Was it them? Or was it simply fated?

I gave you my heart, my soul, my all, Yet you slipped away like autumn’s fall. I held on tight, but love alone Couldn’t turn a house into a home.

I whispered your name into the air, But silence answered, cold and bare. Was love too weak, or fate too strong? Or were we never meant to belong?

The last time I held you, I didn’t know it would be the last. Your warmth still lingers in my memory, like a candle flickering in an empty room. I replay that moment in my mind, wondering if I could have said something different, done something more. But some endings arrive quietly, without warning. Maybe my love wasn’t enough, or maybe it was never meant to be.

Maybe my love wasn’t enough for you, but that doesn’t mean it was meaningless. Love is never truly wasted, even when it isn’t returned the way we hope. It changes us, teaches us, and reminds us of our capacity to feel deeply. And perhaps, one day, I will find a love that stays—a love that is enough.
