CHAPTER 3

"After reading the letter, Mark felt a pang of pity for her. But  He didn't want to entertain these feelings that much, he tried to stop thinking about her and prepared to go to work.

He had never considered any girl's feelings until now. Fifteen years ago, love vanished from his life.

He became a heartless person. He didn't believe in love.

Whenever he wanted to be loved, his fate always mocked him, showing him clearly that there is nothing called love.

But Today, her letter affected his emotions so profoundly. Though he was trying not to think about it, her thoughts were still coming back to his head, making him guilty of his action.

It's lunchtime in Mark's office. Mark was sitting at his cabin, lost in thought. He didn't even know what exactly he was thinking about now.

Today's letter has stirred up all of his emotions,

memories of the past, reminding him of the events of twenty years ago."

...

flashback

Mark was an only child of his parents. His family was not normal like other families. He didn't get to enjoy his childhood properly.

He never experienced the love of a mother. His parents were always busy in their world. They didn't have the time to give him. His father loved him but couldn't give him that much due to his work.

And about his mother, she was there only for the namesake. She never gave him affection or any motherly love.

She was too busy to live her life in luxury. Her profession, shopping, spa, party etc were the only thing she cared about.

She never considered him in her life even a little bit.

She used to spend her whole time in the salon, shopping mall, and bar. She only knew how to spend money.

When Mark was a mere child unknown to the world,  he saw many male friends of his mother come and stay at night.

Sometimes, He was sent to the room of the butler with chocolates and toys when her friend came home in the afternoon.

In his innocence, it never occurred to him that what was happening was wrong.

He was instructed not to tell his father about those friends and all. And as a good boy, He always obeyed his mother's every word.

He used to hope that, in that way, his mother would be impressed and start to love him.

But in his mother's eyes, he never existed.

One day, in the evening, he was waiting for his father to return home.

Mark was 9 years old at that time.

He used to do that every day.  His father was the only person who gave him love and care in the whole world.

His  father came home early from the office that day( Mark's father was a successful businessman.) He looked very depressed, tired, and angry.

As soon as he came home he started yelling Mark's mother's name angrily.  Meanwhile, She was getting ready to go to a party with her friends.

She wore a very revealing dress, putting some makeup on her face.

When she heard him screaming her name she went downstairs hurriedly, where Mark's father was standing.

She was about to say something, but before that, Mark's father slapped her with his full strength.

Mark's mother fell to the ground. She was too shocked to say anything. Mark's father's eyes were red.

He throws some photos towards her.

Those are so intimate photos of Mark's mother with another man. Mark's mother tried to excuse something but she couldn't convince her husband.

Mark was watching this whole situation from a corner. His whole body became frozen from shock. All of this happened so fast that he could not cope with the whole thing.

After he came out of his daze, he ran to his mother and hugged her tightly. Even though his mother never loved him, he loved her very much. And he got furious to see that his mother was hit by his father.

He was crying and consoling his mother. Seeing him like that, Mark's father's eyes became softer and tried to pat his head but Mark jerked his hand away and started screaming in fury " I hate you, Dad, I hate you the most"

His father was hurt by his words and his expression was saying it all.  His father hardened his face and ordered the butler to take Mark away from there.

.........

After a few days, Mark's father divorced her. And chased her out of his house. Mark couldn't understand those things so he blamed his father.

After the divorce,  his father kept himself so busy with work that sometimes he didn't even return home.

These things made Mark more lonely and the grief for his father was increasing.
