Second Scene

It's the school classroom.

Miss Nancy tells Dominic to stand up.

Miss Nancy

Okay Dominic, stand up. Did you learn your homework?

Dominic stood up and didn't answer the teacher.

Miss Nancy

Answer me Dominic.

Dominic

Forgive me Miss Nancy. I didn't study properly, so I don't know it well.

Miss Nancy

If that is so, then come here! I shall punish you!

Dominic goes to the teacher warily. He was so afraid that he stands with his body shaking all over.

The teacher then punishes him. He felt extremely horrible.

Dominic

Miss, my friends told me that if we pray, we will be forgiven.

Miss Nancy

A disobedient student who wouldn't study properly... Neither us teachers nor God would forgive. Who are those friends you mentioned?

Dominic

Kyle and Martin.

Miss Nancy

Okay Kyle and Martin, both of you stand up.

Kyle and Martin stood up from their seats.

Miss Nancy

Did you both learn your homework?

Kyle

Yes, Miss Nancy.

Miss Nancy

So that means you're lying to me, Dominic?

Dominic

No, Miss. I'm not lying.

Miss Nancy

Dominic will have to stay back and study alone. The rest of you can go home.

The students went out of the classroom and watched Dominic as he studied alone.

While the others went home, Dominic felt miserable and tears streamed down his face.

After he learned, he recited in front of the teacher and only then he could go home.




