#4 The emerald city

As Elphaba followed Madame Morrible through the winding streets of the Emerald City, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and trepidation. She had no idea where Madame Morrible was leading her, or what lay ahead.

Madame Morrible walked quickly, her long strides forcing Elphaba to hurry to keep up. They passed by the grand buildings and market stalls of the city, the sounds and smells of the bustling metropolis fading into the distance as they made their way into the quieter, more residential areas of the city.

Finally, after what felt like hours of walking, Madame Morrible stopped in front of a small, unassuming building. The building was made of a dull gray stone, and the windows were narrow and barred. It looked like a prison, or a fortress.

"This is where we will begin your training," Madame Morrible said, her eyes glinting with a knowing light. "This is where you will learn the secrets of magic, and where you will discover your true potential."

Elphaba felt a shiver run down her spine as she looked at the building. She had never seen anything like it before. It was imposing, and yet, it seemed to radiate a strange, otherworldly energy.

"What is this place?" Elphaba asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"This is the Ozma Women's College of Magic," Madame Morrible replied, her voice dripping with pride. "It is one of the most prestigious magical institutions in all of Oz, and it is here that you will learn the secrets of magic."

Elphaba's eyes widened in awe as she looked at the building. She had heard of the Ozma Women's College of Magic, of course. Who hadn't? But she had never thought that she would actually attend the school. It was a dream come true.

Madame Morrible smiled, as if she could see the excitement and anticipation in Elphaba's eyes.

"Come," Madame Morrible said, beckoning to Elphaba. "Let us go inside. Your journey is about to begin."

And with that, Madame Morrible pushed open the door to the Ozma Women's College of Magic, and Elphaba stepped inside, ready to begin her journey into the world of magic.

As they entered the building, Elphaba was struck by the sheer scale of the interior. The entrance hall was vast, with a high, vaulted ceiling that seemed to stretch up to the heavens. The walls were lined with ancient tapestries, depicting scenes of magic and wonder from the history of Oz.

Madame Morrible led Elphaba through the entrance hall, and into a long, winding corridor. The corridor was lined with doors, each one leading to a different classroom or laboratory. Elphaba could hear the sounds of chanting and spell-casting coming from behind the doors, and she felt a thrill of excitement at the prospect of learning such magic.

Finally, Madame Morrible stopped in front of a large, ornate door. The door was adorned with intricate carvings of magical symbols, and it looked like it hadn't been opened in years.

"This is the classroom of the esteemed Professor Milgo," Madame Morrible said, her voice dripping with reverence. "He is one of the most powerful wizards in all of Oz, and he will be your instructor in the magical arts."

Elphaba's eyes widened in awe as she looked at the door. She had heard of Professor Milgo, of course. Who hadn't? He was a legend in the world of magic.

Madame Morrible smiled, as if she could see the excitement and anticipation in Elphaba's eyes.

"Are you ready to begin your journey, Elphaba?" Madame Morrible asked, her voice low and mysterious.

Elphaba nodded, her heart pounding with excitement.

"Yes," Elphaba said, her voice firm and resolute. "I'm ready."

And with that, Madame Morrible pushed open the door, and Elphaba stepped inside, ready to begin her journey into the world of magic.
