Genres and ideas are two important aspects of any story. But many times, most of us have gotten various thoughts on what genre we should use for our story.

Am I right? Yep I am. As I have wondered on them myself~

So my dear writers, so let's talk about genres on mangatoon. If you have ever looked on the genre page of mangatoon then you would have seen millions of novels or chat stories below the genre of romance. (?ಠ﹏ಠ )σ

Any MT user may see and tell that most of the books of MT are based on romance genre.

So the first key to make your book popular is by having romance in your book.

Everyone likes to see or read what they want to experience in real life. So give them those moments of couples they want to see.

That also doesn't mean that you all have to write 18+ stories right at the start. No, many of the stories may get popularity because of 18+ content , but without a story it won't stand a chance against all those amazing stories out there . So don't you start filling your story with 18+ content yet.

So all in all, we can conclude that romance is the most important and popular genre present on mangatoon.

Then let's award romance as the most popular genre. Then there are more genres which goes along with romance and get popularity really fast.

Yes telling from experience. BL books which have one update in two days also get very famous. As there are many BL readers who loves to give comments and tips. Yep they are very generous too.

Yeah yeah you all must be saying other than comedy those genre don't exist , but if these were the genre then it would have been the third most popular genre because readers may say they don't want the characters to struggle but in all honesty, the stories which starts with struggles, which makes the readers see their own hardship in them, which makes them feel for the characters.

Such things like heartbreak, family problems, forced marriage, unemployment, failure, loneliness, incurable disease, political problems, stalkers, negative fame, negative thoughts, no parents' love, fights with family and friends, depression- the list is much more bigger than this.

And also the biggest two things one may see in stories are "Misunderstanding and confused emotions".

Boom! A misunderstanding happens and the whole happy plot of the story becomes broken and the ML or FL do not even get to clear the misunderstanding faster because actually all humans thinks differently so they try to take things to a level when they can't endure then only they may say it out. Or humans have the nature to hide.

And yep the confused emotions like having two love leads, having two paths, having two decisions or many things like that. And duhhh the main characters mostly ends up making or taking the wrong step. Why? As failure is the first step maybe?

Aish no! The thing is to show them what have they chosen, to realise them their fault, to make them regret, to make them learn from their mistakes and again fight for the other choice. As nothing in life is easy.

Just think of the main characters get everything fast and have nothing to do and sits in a corner and watch everything then there would be no fun to read that kind of story.

So, all in all, to make your readers connect with your characters these all things would help. Yep it's true. The hardship you throw on people in the story gets your readers to root for them and in those times the twist in your story can make the readers bless you with comments.

While coming to Comedy, all likes comedy as it's give you a warm feelings and laughter which makes the readers read it more and more.
