Skyler POV

I walked in the empty hallway, until I finally arrived at my dad's office.

"Dad—I mean Duke why have you called me?"

"Lady Andrea Jewel, she's the only daughter of Baron Thelm Jewel, she was beautiful and kind what do you think of here?"

"Are you planning to marry me off to lady Andrea?"

"Do you have any objections?"

I looked Down clenching my fist I hate it, I don't even have a right to decide my life, and now you're planning to marry me off to someone I don't know or even love.

"I'll think about it Duke"

"Good you may leave now"

I exited my father's office with a heavy heart, I don't want to marry just yet...

After arriving in my room I lay down and close my eyes to sleep,, but I can't, no matter how much I want to sleep I just can't.

I left my room and had a night walk in the garden the air was cold just like how my heart feels now.

I continued walking until I noticed a person figure nearby, I curiously wall over there,, and I feel my heart stop beating.

"Margaret...."

Margaret turned around and I saw a surprise flash in his eyes before she smiled.

"Sky.... it's pretty late why are you still awake?"

I sit beside him and look at the stars in the sky

"I can't sleep...how about you?"

"Well I also can't sleep"

"I'm getting engaged...."

"Really? So who's the lucky lady?"

"Her name is Andrea Jewel do you know her?"

"Ohh Andrea she's the quietest lady I know, she doesn't really talk to anyone in tea parties she just stays in the side and mind her own business.....but well I know there must be a reason the duke chooses her"

"Maybe..."

"Well it's getting late sky I'll be going back now"

As I see Margaret leaving I instinctively hold her hand, she looks at me, I really wanna ask her if the words she said in the past were true or does she even remember it.

"Do you still remember when you said I lov—"

"Margaret!!!"

I didn't finish my words when I heard my brother's voice. He walked over to us.

"why are you here, it's so cold out here, go back to my room"

I watch as my brother wraps Margaret with his jacket and kisses her forehead before Margaret leaves.

"Skyler...."

"Yes brother?"

"Don't forget Margaret is my fiancé we'll be married next year, I don't care if you had history or what, stay away from her,, and don't you dare have any inappropriate thoughts about her she's your sister-in-law, she's my soon-to-be wife"

I nodded "I understand brother you don't have to worry...i already moved on"

"you better remember your words"

After that brother Caleb leaves, I know her words are true but what can I do, I am the first one she loves, but he will be her last.
