Staring at Him/her

Wenalin Pov

at the Classroom

Natalie: "Ugh, I'm so stressed out by that jerk. Let's just go back to the classroom."

"You're right."

We started walking.

When we arrived at the classroom, Aimy immediately sat down in her seat and rested her head on the table. Her expression was tired.

Eri: "Finally, the three of you are here."

Kara: "You're so loud, Eri." She rolled her eyes.

Aimy waved lazily.

Aimi: "I'm okay... I'm just a little tired, I guess."

Kara: "Tired? From what?"

Aimi: "Hmm... I don't know. I'm really tired..."

Aimi mumbled quietly, still resting her head on the table, as if she didn't want to talk anymore.

I noticed Eri's eyebrow raise.

Eri: "Tired? Come on. You just buried yourself in assignments. You're such a show-off."

Aimy didn't look at her, but she gave Eri the middle finger. I couldn't help but laugh at the two of them.

Kara: "What happened? Aimi seems like she's in a bad mood."

Eri: "You're so mean, Aimi. You too." She gave Aimy the middle finger as well.

Eri said with a hint of annoyance.

Natalie: "Just leave her alone. She doesn't seem to be in the mood."

Natalie said while looking at Aimi. While they were bickering, I was just staring blankly out the window. I was still thinking about the guy I rescued in the forest. I don't know where he is now. I was also thinking about how he was doing, if his wounds were okay. I don't know why I'm still thinking about that guy, I don't even know him.

While I was looking out the window, I only saw students walking around the campus. As I continued to look, I saw someone standing under a tree, staring directly at me. It was Kurt. Kurt was far away, so my classmates didn't notice him staring. But I could feel his gaze, his expression cold. Kurt continued to stare at me until I heard someone call his name. Only then did he look in a different direction. I saw the person who called him approach him. They talked and then started walking away. As I watched Kurt walk away, someone poked my side.

Natalie: "What are you staring at?" She whispered to me and looked out the window as if she was searching for something.

"Huh... nothing." I denied.

I noticed Natalie raise her eyebrow and look back out the window.

Natalie: "Okay, okay..."

She didn't ask anymore when the teacher entered, signaling that class was about to start.

I was in the library now. I was trying to reach a book on the top shelf. But it was so high! I was on my tiptoes, but I still couldn't reach it.

I tried several times, but I still couldn't reach the book. I was struggling to reach it from afar when suddenly a hand effortlessly reached for the book on the top shelf. I immediately looked up, surprised because it was Kurt.

Kurt: "You're short."

Kurt and I locked eyes for a long time. But I quickly averted my gaze and distanced myself from him.

"I... I'm not short."

Kurt's face remained serious as he handed me the book.

Kurt: "You're short, that's why you can't reach it."

"I think we're not that close for you to tease me like that."

Kurt: "I'm not teasing you, I'm just stating the truth."

I stared at him for a moment before he spoke again.

He sighed.

Kurt: "Are you going to take the book or are you just going to waste my time?"

I immediately took the book from him.

"Ahm, thanks."

Kurt: "Yeah, whatever." He muttered under his breath before walking away.

I watched him walk away.

What's his problem with me? I haven't done anything wrong to him.
