After the events that happened in the banquet, General Esellan and his wife Ameira sat in the hall together with Sylphie, the Priestess of healing hall.
"Don't be disheartened by the news Ameira. It's already a miracle for him to survive this tragedy". Sylphie broke the silence by coming straight to the point.
"Does it really have to be this way?" Ameira's eyes were filled with tears "Is it really the will of Goddess? Why does my child have to suffer so much?"
"Your child's birth was premature and due to the events that happened, it took a toll on the child's body. Making him fragile, and breaking his soul vessel. Being a Mage is impossible without having a soul vessel that can hold Mana and his fragile constitution also limits his potential to be a swordsman or a combatant." Sylphie replied truthfully.
"Is there no way to heal him?" Ameira asked Sylphie with concern on her face.
"In our kingdom, there's no cure for soul vessel injury as of now, but there's always hope. Maybe some other kingdom has a way to heal him so I'll be looking for news for potions and medicinal herbs. But I think it's also a good thing that will help you keep your child away from harm, at least for some time." Sylphie said seriously, "Because now he won't be a threat to anyone anymore."
"Being an 'inept' has saved his life?" General talked to himself in a mocking tone, "Hais! But at least our child is safe and that's what most important."
General Esellan looked at the baby with pain, for the harsh future that's ahead of him...
Looking at the damp atmosphere, Sylphie, who is usually graceful and uncaring seemed to be pretty stifled.
Watching the sad faces of the parents who had a gone through a lot within these two days, she wanted to make them feel better but didn't know what to say or how to ease them.
"Look, there's still a lot of time to care about this and miracles always happen. There's no use by worrying so much". Sylphie tried to console the couple.
"The Good news is, your child is blessed and is living proof of miracle himself. Don't forget the events that happened before. And what you don't realise is, he won't have pressure like that of noble families. He can be a Scholar and live happily. I'll be looking out for medicines too and your child will not be targeted anymore".
"You're right. I should be content with my child being safe" Ameira said smiling.
"So what name have you picked out for him?" Sylphie asked.
"We haven't considered a name yet," Esellan interjected.
"How about Devak? A living proof of divine miracle itself." Sylphie suggested.
"Hmm. Devak Duvrion. Son of Esellan And Ameira Duvrion." General muttered feeling happy about the name.
[6 years later, Mid-night]
In a grand chamber, six-year-old Devak was asleep on a canopy bed made from walnut-wood with voile curtains.
The fireplace was lit to keep the room warm and was the only source of light.
There wasn't a shred of light coming from the candles into the room.
With his body covered in a cold sweat, he seemed to feel suffocated, unable to breathe and unable to speak. It was a nightmare, that he was dreaming.
In his nightmare, there was a pitch black darkness all around with no concept of time, as if time itself was 'stationary'.
All he could hear was two voices which shook his very fibre of soul, oppressing him. As if every word that was being spoken, was about him, like a divine judgement made for his persecution, declaring his death sentence.
He couldn't understand anything. All he could do was to make efforts to struggle, which seemed to be futile.
He could feel the malice from the speaker. He realised the ill intent. And he hated this feeling.
This nightmare was mortifying. The aura of oppression was real. What he didn't know was, this nightmare was an event that really did happen.
His nightmare was actually the conversation between "that-person" who considered himself a Celestial and the Zolviak slave.
Due to them being high-level entities, it had marked his soul with divine oppression, which is fatal for any soul.
But somehow, he, who should have died was still alive, and the brand of divine aura marked into his soul was breaking his soul bit-by-bit from within and something hidden was then reconstructing it again.
It was pure torture. Not something any mortal can handle, let alone a six-year-old. He couldn't scream because he seemed to be petrified in that nightmare.
This is all that had started with a dream a few months ago. A dream about a place called 'Earth'. He had seen himself there. A different version of him with things that seemed like a fantasy of some sort.
And then fast forwarding to future, he is going through this nightmare.
After a few hours, this nightmare ended and his body suddenly relaxed.
He screamed too loud as if his flesh was being ripped apart and bones were being ground to dust.
His body had turned blue due to lack of blood circulation.
Esellan and Ameira ran to his room as soon as they heard the scream along with other servants.
Seeing his blue body, they both were shocked and pained.
They called many known doctors & Alchemists.
And stayed with him, helping with the blood flow, by massaging his body slowly themselves instead of letting servants do that.
The Next day, Sylphie came as soon as she heard the condition.
Ameira's eyes were red like blood as she was unable to see her child suffer. She had stayed up all night, close to her child.
"It's probably due to his weak constitution. His blood flow was restricted and he felt paralysed due to muscle atrophy." Sylphie said.
"Is there any solution to relieve his pain?" Ameira asked, "Other doctors and Alchemists had no idea about any cure".
"His fragile constitution is the reason if we strengthen that then it might alleviate his injury" Sylphie answered, "It might be torturous for him to do exercises and quench his body in strengthening liquids but that's the only way".
Ameira felt hesitant to answer but Esellan interjected, "We will leave that up to you, Priestess."
"I'll find a suitable trainer for your child," Sylphie suggested.
She then asked them to go rest and stayed with Devak in the room alone.
"Who are you?" Devak asked.
"I'm a friend of your parents, Sylphie Silverheart. You don't know me because you're cooped up here all day" Sylphie walked up to the windows and opened the window curtains to let the light in.
"So you're a doctor?" Devak continued, eager to talk to someone new.
"Something similar, I'm a healer. I use Aura to heal people." Sylphie made some hand gestures and a glowing greenish hue surrounded his hands like mist.
"Wow. Is it magic?" Devak was surprised to see something unique. Apparently he didn't know about magic and Aura users.
Sylphie was surprised to find out that Devak doesn't know anything about magic. It seemed as if his overprotective parents have hidden many things about this world.
"Can you tell me about what happened last night?" Sylphie asked.
Devak told him about how he felt suffocated and restricted as if he was breaking apart. He didn't tell her about dreams about Earth or about two entities, something inside of him told him not to.
Sylphie was a little shocked and soon checked his soul vessel using her aura.
It was just like before but something felt different from when he was a child. She couldn't find out what has changed.
Soon she told him that he will have to exercise more and left a little later.
From the next week, a trainer was arranged for Devak to help him exercise. Although he was six years old he was weaker than those of his age.
After talking with Sylphie, he was curious to find out about the world and asked his father's permission to spend his time in the library after free time.
He would spend hours reading about myths and folklores, especially about magic and stories of the brave warriors of Skyfall kingdom.
His constitution was getting better over time but his dreams of 'life on Earth' were also getting more frequent although he didn't have another nightmare in a long time.
