Sometimes I think that fate brings with it a heavy burden, a burden that intertwines with our lives, causing situations we cannot explain. Many times we find ourselves in a web of lies that binds us so tightly that we cannot turn back. This is how I find myself today, and my web has a name, a surname, and weight in society and the underworld.

During the day, he is a successful businessman acclaimed by society for his achievements, both in the technological field and in the charitable foundations in which he invests heavily. However, when the moon reaches its apex, and the darkness of night appears, a cold man with shady dealings emerges before the underworld, a man who can achieve many things, that even the cruelest of men would cry like a baby in his presence.

This man is my terror and my desire. I fear him, for I have witnessed several things he has done, monstrous things that hurt to the depths of my soul just to remember. And I desire him for his dark skin, his black hair, and his blue eyes like the sea, eyes that can make any woman drown in the immense desire to have him.

I am a young university student studying medicine, and to pay for college I work as a maid in Mr. Oliver's house. And as you can imagine, Mr. Oliver is the man I described above. He is the reason for all my inner turmoil, as handsome as I had ever seen, yet venomous as a deadly serpent. My presence was never noticed by him. I even think that's why I'm alive after four years working for him. I have witnessed many of his atrocities, but I always kept to the corners when he was home. As I said, I was never noticed or seen by him, and the truest saying is that which is not seen will never be remembered, and I prefer it to remain that way.

I am twenty-five years old, a redhead with blue eyes, and quite out of place. I am not the center of attention, and I keep it that way; it's the best thing I do with my life. I am very temperamental and pragmatic, two qualities that do not help in relationships. I only dated once in my life, but the relationship lasted only a week. Besides these grand qualities that sink my romantic life, I am cheerful, docile, and a little touchy. Dad says I'm dramatic; I judge that I'm not, because if I were dramatic I would have left four years ago, when I moved into my boss's house. Because on my first night here, the house was attacked, shots were fired. I was desperate, however, Liriam, the housekeeper, explained the situation to me, exposing the situation as it really was. I was scared and nervous, but I weighed my options, because no job would pay me like that one, which would allow me to pay for my college and still save some money. In the end, the desire to succeed in life spoke louder, and so here we are.
