Chasing the Star: How My Internet Crush Became My Boyfreind
The Virtual Spark
Akira sat in her room, her fingers hovering over her phone screen. It had been a few days since Adam Lictawa had replied to her comment on his latest post, and the thrill of that moment still hadn't worn off. She had watched the notification light up with his message: "Hey Akira, thanks for the support! You seem like a cool person." She had stared at it for what felt like an eternity before finally typing back, heart racing with excitement.
Her screen lit up again. It was Adam. She opened the message without hesitation, her heart pounding in her chest.
Adam Lictawa
"I checked out your profile, and I see you're really into photography. That's awesome! What kind of stuff do you usually shoot?"
Akira smiled to herself, already typing a response.
Akira Kai
"Thank you! Yeah, I love capturing moments, especially landscapes and street photography. There's something about the beauty in the little things that makes me want to preserve them."
The conversation flowed easily from there. Adam seemed genuinely interested in her passions, asking questions and sharing his own thoughts. Akira had no idea how long they had been chatting. Time felt like it stood still whenever they were talking. She had always been afraid of fangirling too much, but Adam made it feel so natural to just be herself.
The next morning, as she was scrolling through her feed, Akira noticed that Adam had posted a new story—this time with a behind-the-scenes look at one of his upcoming projects. Her heart skipped a beat as she clicked on it.
“I think you’re going to love this!” the caption read, accompanied by a photo of Adam in front of a massive camera setup.
Akira’s fingers flew to the keyboard once again.
Akira Kai
"This looks amazing! I’m so excited to see what you're working on!"
A few moments later, Adam’s reply popped up.
Adam Lictawa
“You always make my day with your messages. I’ll definitely keep you updated!”
Her face flushed, and she realized how much she had come to look forward to their exchanges. It wasn’t just admiration anymore—it was something deeper, something more intimate that she couldn’t quite describe. She had always thought of celebrities like Adam as untouchable, out of reach. But now, there was a spark between them, however small it might be.
It was around the same time that Akira’s phone buzzed with a new notification. This one, however, wasn’t from Adam
It was from her best friend, Trixie.
Trixie Shane
"Hey, Akira! You’re not going to believe this, but I saw that Adam Lictawa followed you on Twitter!"
Akira's eyes widened. She quickly opened her Twitter account and saw the notification: Adam Lictawa had followed her. Her heart stopped. It was one thing to chat with him, but for him to follow her? It felt like a dream she didn’t want to wake up from.
Trixie’s text came through again.
Trixie Shane
“Girl, this is huge! You’re totally on his radar now. He’s probably thinking about you, too!”
Akira blinked at the message. She couldn’t help but feel a little self-conscious. Was it really possible that Adam was thinking about her? She had no idea how to interpret any of this. But the thought of him knowing about her, of him paying attention to her online presence, sent a thrill through her that was hard to contain.
Later that afternoon, after school, Akira sat down at her desk to work on her photography project. But her mind kept drifting back to her conversation with Adam. She had gotten so used to their chats that it was hard to focus on anything else. Just as she was about to put her phone down, another message from Adam popped up. Her heart skipped a beat.
Adam Lictawa
"Hey, I was thinking about that photography project you mentioned. Do you ever consider collaborating with anyone? I know a few people in the industry who might be interested in your work."
Akira felt a wave of excitement wash over her. Was he serious? The idea of collaborating with someone as influential as Adam seemed like a dream. But the more she thought about it, the more she realized it might not be as far-fetched as she once believed. Adam had already shown interest in her work, and if he really meant what he said, this could open up so many doors for her.
Akira Kai
"I’ve always dreamed of collaborating with professionals in the industry, but I’ve never known how to get started. If you’re really serious, I’d love to explore it!"
A few minutes passed before Adam’s response came through.
Adam Lictawa
"Let’s make it happen, then. I’ll send you some details, and we can start brainstorming ideas. I’m really looking forward to this, Akira!"
The words "Let’s make it happen" echoed in her mind. She could hardly believe what was happening. Was this really her life now? A few weeks ago, she had been just another fan, watching Adam’s life unfold from a distance. Now, they were talking about collaboration. Her dreams of being recognized in the photography world were starting to feel within reach.
She took a deep breath, trying to keep herself calm. This was the opportunity of a lifetime, and she couldn’t afford to let nerves or doubt get in her way. Akira smiled to herself as she stared at her phone screen, where Adam’s message was still open. The journey she had begun in admiration was quickly becoming something much more.
And for the first time in her life, Akira felt like maybe, just maybe, this was the start of something truly extraordinary.
