The Mission

Julian asked Absalom about him, at first he hesitated but then he said: “the butchers name was John. He used to buy animals from Edward. After I bought the farm, I stopped giving him his share. After sometime he and his family were found dead”. While saying this Absalom seemed awfully suspicious. So, Shao asked him if he was really telling the truth and Absalom said yes. The next few days the butcher kept taking animals and people. Now day by day more workers were quitting. Absalom started doubting if Julian, Horace and Shao really were detectives. Julian started digging deeper for information. One piece of information caught his eye, could John, his wife and daughter be murdered. Julian went to the butcher’s house. As per what his neighbors had said Johns body was found dead on the floor with blood all over it. While returning they brought an exorcist named Zem with them to the farm. She inspected the farm and the butchers house. Zem first hand witnessed the butcher’s arrival. She said: “the large shadow was indeed the butchers and he wanted revenge from someone, someone on this farm, someone named Absalom”. Now it was clear that Absalom had done something to John. This time when Julian asked Absalom he was ready to answer. He said: “some part of the farm belonged to John. After the previous owner’s death John came to redeem his part of the farm but I stopped him saying that I am the new owner and I decide who the farm belongs to. John came every day, but one day he said he was going to call the police. So, I had to send assassins after him in order to save myself. The assassins killed him and his family. After sometime the neighbors came to his house and were shocked at the sight of three dead bodies. They buried the bodies after this”. Hearing this Julian quickly went to the graveyard to dig out their bodies to inspect them but Horace stopped him saying that this might anger the butcher.Julian persisted and finally when he opened the coffins they were shocked to see there were no dead bodies of the butcher’s wife and daughter. There Julian knew there was something else to the story. He quickly went to Absalom and asked him about it, Absalom smiled and something hit them in the head and they blacked out. After sometime Shao woke up to find himself in a cell tied with chains with Julian and Horace besides him. After waking the rest up Julian started to panic while remembering what happened. He under stood that Absalom only wanted them to get rid of the butcher’s soul but now that they found out about his secret Absalom wanted to kill them. Julian told this to Shao and Horace, hearing this Horace became angry and said: “all of us got into this mess because of you, didn’t we tell you not to lie and not to dig up that grave.
