A tiger!
Lily opened her eyes to see Scarlet sleeping. She rubbed her eyes and looked around for a little. She then saw a tiger coming towards her direction. She pulled out her chains. The tiger was coming for Scarlet. Lily wrapped her chains around the tigers neck and crushed it's skull. She was covered in blood so she decided to go to a nearby lake to bathe.
Scarlet awoke to a tiger's corpse standing infront of her and Lily missing. She has a good sense of smell so she could vividly smell where the same scent of blood has gone. She stumbled to see a lake with Lily bathing in it. She couldn't help but blush at the sight. Lily turned around and looked at Scarlet with two beautiful jewel turquiose eyes that shined through the lake. Lily's pale skin blended with the pure water of the lake.
Lily
I was just gonna bathe. I encountered a tiger while you were sleeping. It was coming after you, so I just killed it.
Scarlet
Oh...That explains the tiger corpse.
Lily
Has your wound healed yet?
Scarlet
Don't worry, I'll probably heal tomorrow.
Lily
Hey, do you wanna join me? You look like you haven't took a bath in 10 days.
Scarlet
Hey! I'm not that stinky!
Scarlet took off her clothes and dived in. The water was freezing cold.
Scarlet poked her head out, panting.
Scarlet
You should know that phoenixes hate cold. Especially phoenix hybrids!
Lily
Oh, is that so? Sorry then.
Lily chucked while scratching the back of her neck.
Scarlet started swimming back to shore.
Scarlet
You bathe, I dry off.
Lily dived back in, her head under the cold water of the lake. Scarlet dried off and put on her clothes. She couldn't help but think about what she saw. Lily's pale skin, her jewel eyes, everything. They didn't even know eachother very well and she's already catching feelings for her. But, there seemed to have a connection between them. When Scarlet was little, she had a friend with light purple hair and turquiose eyes. When the head of the village told her that her friend was dead because of a rock falling on her, she broke down into tears. Her friend was her only family left since she didn't have any parents, siblings nor relatives. She couldn't eat nor sleep. She was diagnosed with depression when she was thirteen (3 years ago). She still couldn't get over the fact that her friend was dead. Lily reminded Scarlet of her friend, so she always told herself from the moment she met her, she would always protect her.
Scarlet snapped back to reality when she heard Lily say her name.
Lily
Scarlet are you okay? I've called your name out for almost 20 times.
Scarlet
Y-Yeah, sorry I worried you.
Lily grabbed Scarlet's hand and dragged her back to where they were sleeping. Scarlet chuckled.
When they got there, they cleaned up the corpse and made a small wooden tent. They collected twigs and rocks for a bon fire.
Scarlet
Have you ever had a friend with red hair when you were younger?
Lily
W-Why are you jumping to such personal questions?
Scarlet
I just want answers. I don't want to force you to answer me, but I also want answers.
Lily
The elf and phoenix families were in war except for one villaage. Her's. She has always said I was her only family and that she would protect me. I miss those moments. When my parents found out that I had a phoenix friend, they punished me. I told the head of her village to fake my "death" if she asks where I was.
Lily
I felt really bad for faking my death to my friend, but I had no choice.
There was silence. Lily looked up to the moon while Scarlet was staring at her with the most shocked face ever. Scarlet looked like she's just saw a ghost.
Scarlet tried to act normal.
Scarlet
O-Oh...I feel really bad for you...
Lily crawled into the wooden tent.
Scarlet crawled in the tent too.
