05. Pregnancy news

Seeing Damian and Vivian locked in an embrace, a scene that felt like a painful reminder of her own unfulfilled dreams, Rosslyn turned away, her heart heavy with a crushing sense of loneliness. She decided to leave the balcony, needing to escape the suffocating weight of their affection.

"Let's talk about Damian and Vivian's future," Mrs. Monterey said, her voice a sharp, clear voice that cut through the air. The words, so casual, so dismissive of her own existence, hit Rosslyn like a physical blow. The world spun, her vision blurring, and a wave of dizziness swept over her. She stumbled, her legs giving way beneath her. The last thing she saw before darkness swallowed her whole was Mrs. Monterey's surprised expression, her face frozen in mid-sentence.

Panic seized the maid who had witnessed Rosslyn's collapse. Her cries for help echoed through the mansion, shattering the quiet of the evening. The family, their faces a mixture of concern and bewilderment, rushed to her side. Her lifeless form, lying sprawled on the floor, sent a wave of shock through them.

"Get the young butler," Mrs. Monterey barked, her voice laced with urgency. "He's the strongest. Get her to the hospital immediately."

The young butler, his face pale, gently lifted Rosslyn’s limp body and carried her out to the waiting car. The family, a mix of worried faces and anxious whispers, watched as the car sped away, their eyes glued to its retreating taillights. They waited anxiously, their hearts pounding with a mixture of fear and apprehension, for the doctor to tell them what had befallen Rosslyn.

The doctor, a young woman with kind eyes and a reassuring smile, turned to the anxious family gathered around Rosslyn's bed. "Well, it's good news. She's thirteen weeks pregnant."

The room erupted in a cacophony of gasps and murmurs. Vivian, her face contorted with a mix of anger and betrayal, let out a strangled cry. She lunged forward, her hand connecting with a resounding slap against Damian's face.

"You bastard!" she screamed, her voice echoing through the sterile hospital room. "You made her pregnant while you were with me? You're a monster!"

"N-no, it was a one-time drunken mistake, babe, Viv... please..." Damian stammered, tears streaming down his face. His voice cracked with a mix of fear and desperation. He had poured everything he had into rebuilding his relationship with Vivian for the past three months, but this unexpected revelation, this bombshell dropped in front of everyone, threatened to undo everything he had worked so hard to achieve. The carefully constructed foundation of their reconciliation, fragile as it was, seemed poised to crumble under the weight of this new truth.

"What the hell?!" Mrs. Monterey exclaimed, her voice a mixture of disbelief and outrage. She stumbled back, her hand flying to her mouth to stifle a gasp, her bewildered eyes darting between Damian and the sleeping Rosslyn.

"What have you done, Damian?!" Mr. Zamora roared, his face crimson with fury. "You're not content with Vivian? You had to hook up with Rosslyn? What kind of monster are you?" His voice boomed through the hospital room, echoing the deep anger and disgust that radiated from him.
