Chapter 4

After a quick bath, I laid on the bed while scrolling through the wester college website. After some time of scrolling around, I finally saw the link to for the rules.

I clicked on it and as a habit I screenshot the rules. After that I started reading

RULES FOR WESTER COLLEGE FRESHMEN

RULE 1: After 11pm, the boys are no longer allowed in the girls dormitory and vice versa.

RULE 2: The forest of jerax is completely of limits to students.

RULE 3: Non-elite students are not allowed in an Elite's class.

RULE 4: Any form of disobedience towards lecturers will not be taken lightly.

RULE 5: Use of makeup while in school is prohibited.

RULE 6: Although coming to classes is not necessary, a failing grade is prohibited.

RULE 7: The only time a student is permitted to go home or out of the school campus is during emergencies or breaks.

RULE 8: Mobile phones are prohibited.

RULE 9: Being intimate is accepted but having sex is prohibited.

RULE 10: AVOID KAI OLSON AT ALL COSTS.

After reading the rules I was dumbfounded especially about the last one, like who the hell is Kai Olson, hmm must be a bully.

I forgot that I had already snapped the image and was about to do it when suddenly the last rule about that Kai Olson guy got deleted.

I was stunned then realized that I had already taken a screenshot before and sighed. (I wonder who that Kai Olson guy is, I should probably avoid him while at college).

The remaining days leading to the time I depart from college was over before I knew it. The only notable event I had was when my mum gave me a necklace to wear.

She said that if I ever have that pain again I should simply put on the necklace and I will feel better, and I accepted the necklace to rid her of fears.

Ryan had already agreed to take me since he was on leave from school and also because he kinda promised me.

By the time I reached outside, he was already waiting for me by his car and smiled when he saw me. "Ry you're here." I said while heading towards him.

I hugged him, and he said "Of course why won't I?, when there is a cute little girl would be upset if I don't show up". I pouted but smiled.

My mum came out and came to me asking if I had forgotten anything. I sighed and tried to help her calm down, but she ignored me and said to Ry,

"Ry dear, please protect Lena for me, make sure she eats on time, and although I know she is a handful so just help". He smiled calmly and said "Of course mum, I will protect her with my life".

Feeling left out I said "Hey guys don't ignore me, I am the person you are talking about." She pinched my cheeks then hugged me and patted her back and said,

"Don't worry mum, I'm gonna be just fine, I have Ry with me remember. Although they said that Mobile phones are prohibited I will call you before we enter campus, okay?".

She nodded then released me, we entered the car and as the car drove away we waved at each other, looking at her figure getting smaller and smaller until it was out of sight I thought to myself,

(I will make sure I protect you mum).

According to Ry, the drive was going to be a seven-hour journey, so I took the opportunity to use my phone while I could still use it.

I recalled that I had not told Ry about the mate incident. I turned to him and said "Um Ry, h…have you ever, you know, heard a..."

He looked at me for a brief moment then turned back to the road and said "Heard what Lena?,"

"Um not to sound creepy, but like a voice in your head." That statement made him lose focus for a bit, but he quickly recovered and said "What?"

"I know it might have been hallucinating, but have you ever heard a voice in your head?". He asked instead of replying "Lena are you human?"

The question shocked the living daylight out of me and I said rapidly "Which kind of messed up question is that, if I am not human, what the fuck am I?, a ghost, a vampire or maybe a werewolf?".

His eyes widened when I mentioned werewolf and I teased him saying "Ry~, you got pretty frightened there, don't tell me you are afraid of werewolves."

He didn't respond so I said "You don't need to be afraid because werewolves are not real, they are only a fairy tale told to kids during their bedtime."

He flinched and just nodded with a slight smile. I planned to call my mum later so I had to preserve the battery.

Since I didn't want the mood to turn sour I decided to ask him about the rules and their meaning so that I would make sure to follow them and escape trouble.

"Ry, I have some questions about your school rules, why do they all almost sound so weird." "Hmm weird, what do you mean weird." he said with his brow raised in confusion.

"Okay let me start from rule 1. That is like the only rule that is normal there." "Really, what does it say, although personally I think all the other rules sounds normal to me."

"It says that entering the opposite sex's dorm after 11pm is prohibited and I agree because what would a girl be doing in a boy's form by then".

He nodded urging me to continue so I did and said "Pls if u may ask what is the forest of jerax?" "That rule is very important, the forest of jerax is a very dangerous place and u advise you not to ever step foot there."

"Okay, now to the next, what do they mean by elite classes?" "Those are the classes meant for um what you will call royalty, while non elites are the commoners like you and i".

"So in general we, the commoners, are not allowed in the Royal's classes, it sounds pretty okay for me."

"Hmm for the next, 4,5,6 and 7 sound okay and normal to me, but what about the issue of mobile phones?" He somewhat perplexed and said "I really don't know how to explain that one sorry."

"No worries, what of 9 that's about sexual intimacies?" he flushed and said "I don't feel comfortable explaining that one but I don't think you are the type to engage in such acts so it is okay."

"Fine, now for the last question, before I tell you pls answer me, who the hell is Kai Olson?". As soon as those words left my mouth, his expression darkened.
