Chapter 2: The Hesitation
As Giu finished Eating their snacks, he leaned back in his chair, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him.
His laughter with Lyla and Jane had been infectious, but now he couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was staring at him in the first table.
He glanced around the store and spotted Vee again, his eyes darting away as soon as they met his.
“What’s up, Giu?”
Jane asked, noticing his distraction.
“Nothing, just…”
Giu trailed off, trying to shake off the unease.
“Did you guys notice that guy over there?” He pointed vaguely in Vee’s direction.
Lyla raised an eyebrow. “What guy?”
“The one sitting with his friend, studying.
He keeps looking this way.” Giu couldn’t help but feel a mix of curiosity and embarrassment.
Did he do something to draw attention? He ran a hand through his hair, trying to dismiss the feeling.
“Oh, come on.
He’s probably just bored,” Jane replied, rolling her eyes. “Let’s head back to school before the bell rings.”
Reluctantly, Giu stood up, throwing away the trash from their snacks.
As they walked toward the exit, he stole another glance at Vee.
His cheeks were still flushed, and he felt a strange flutter in his stomach.
Was he embarrassed? Did he even realize how captivating he was?
As they stepped outside, Giu’s mind raced.
“Did I do something wrong?” he wondered.
“Is he upset?”
It felt surreal to think that someone might be admiring him.
He had always been the one to admire from afar, not the other way around.
His friends, completely oblivious to the unspoken connection brewing, chatted about their upcoming classes.
“I swear, Giu, you have this weird energy today,”
Lyla teased, nudging him. “You’re acting all shy.
What’s going on?”
Giu shrugged, forcing a laugh.
“Just tired, I guess.”
But in truth, he felt anything but tired.
The encounter with Vee lingered in his mind, a puzzle he was desperate to solve.
Why was he looking at him?
As they walked toward school, Giu felt a sense of longing.
He glanced back at the convenience store one last time, half hoping to catch another glimpse of Vee.
he was still there, his focus back on his books, yet he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something more between them.
Inside the school, Giu’s mind remained preoccupied.
Even as he settled into his next class, the thoughts of Vee lingered.
“Giu!” Jane’s voice broke through his reverie. “You with us?”
“Yeah, sorry,”
he mumbled, shaking his head to clear the thoughts.
But the sensation of his gaze remained, and he couldn’t ignore the curiosity that tugged at him.
Was he really just a random man, or could he be something more?
He glanced at the clock, counting down the minutes until lunch.
Maybe then he would have the courage to see if he was still around.
After all, sometimes opportunities come when you least expect them—but you have to be brave enough to seize them.
End.
