Moonlit Destinies : Bonded by Power
The world felt wrong the moment I opened my eyes. The smell of iron clung to the air, thick and metallic, as if the streets themselves were bleeding. I blinked against the eerie twilight, my vision swimming as I tried to make sense of my surroundings. This was not home. The towering buildings loomed above me, gothic structures that twisted and reached for the sky like claws.
My breath hitched in my throat as I took a tentative step forward, The cold cobblestones bit into my bare feet as I tried looking around. The pain in my muscles was unbearable, as though I’d been tossed into this strange place.I stumbled to my feet, confusion clouding my mind. The buildings loomed around me, like something from a nightmare—gothic, towering, and dripping with age and darkness. Every nerve in my body screamed that I wasn’t supposed to be here, that something had gone horribly wrong. But where was here?
“Where am I?” I whispered, rubbing my arms for warmth.
A gust of wind blew, carrying with it faint whispers I couldn’t understand. There was no one here. The streets were eerily empty, but it felt like I was being watched. Shadows danced along the walls, alive, watching me. Panic surged through me. I had to find someone, anyone who could tell me where I was.
“Hyza.”
The voice cut through the silence, low and velvety, sending a shiver down my spine. I whirled around to find a figure standing in the shadows. His tall frame was draped in dark, flowing clothes, blending almost seamlessly with the night. The only thing that stood out were his eyes—glowing faintly, like embers in the dark.Tall, pale, his clothes dark and flowing like a wraith in the wind. His eyes glowed with an unnatural light. They seemed to pierce allthrough the darkness, and his gaze was locked on me. Something about him sent shivers down my spine, yet I was drawn to him.
“Stop,” his voice commanded, smooth like silk but with a terrifying edge. I froze in place, unable to move. He stepped closer, each of his movements predatory, smooth , fluid, like a shadow come to life.
“Who are you?” I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady despite the terror clawing at my chest.
My heart hammered in my chest. Where am I ? Who is he ?? And How did he know my name???
He stepped forward, and I caught a glimpse of his sharp, chiseled features. His skin was pale, almost deathly so, but his presence was anything but lifeless. There was something powerful about him, something dangerous. “I am Kael,” he said, his voice like a whisper carried on the wind. “And you... are not where you belong.”
The ground seemed to tilt beneath me as I stared at him. “Where am I?”
“Welcome to Nachtmahr,” he said, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. “A city of darkness, ruled by those who walk the night.”
