Chapter 5: Their Life…

In the heart of the red light district, life was a vibrant tapestry of sounds, scents, and bustling activity. At 17, Yue had taken on the role of a responsible caretaker for the triplets, who were now 6 years old. Each morning, the sun streamed through the tattered curtains of their small home, casting soft rays on the makeshift sleeping area where the triplets lay curled up together. Mei would often dance around, pretending to be a noble lady, while Lin would mimic Yue’s singing, her voice soft and sweet.

Once their chores were done, the group would venture out into the lively streets. Yue’s heart swelled with pride as he watched the triplets’ faces light up with joy.

In the evenings, they would return to their small corner of the red light district, where Yue would often entertain the triplets with stories and songs. Their giggles and cheers warmed his heart, making him forget the struggles of their surroundings, if only for a moment.

“I love hearing your stories, Yue!” Mei exclaimed, her voice filled with admiration.

“Yeah! Can we sing too?” Xiu chimed in, bouncing on her toes.

“Of course,” Yue replied, his heart full. “Your voices are the most beautiful music I’ve ever heard.”

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over their little home, the triplets would curl up next to Yue, feeling safe and cherished. In those precious moments, they would share their hopes and dreams, weaving a tapestry of love that shielded them from the harsh realities of the world outside.

“I wish we could always be together like this,” Lin said softly, her eyes reflecting the fading light.

“Me too,” Yue replied, wrapping an arm around them. “As long as we have each other, we can face anything.”
