Sacred Object

“Soo.. Sakura, what do we do?”

“Oh, for me i’m going to the city hall to get assigned to be a mage.”

“Really? Are there any other classes?”

I’ve always admired the skill play the characters had in game with wands and swords. Soo awesome!

“Oh of course there is! There is mage, archer, swordsma-”

“Stop right there! Can u repeat the last one pleaseee?”

A SWORDSMAN! I’ve dreamed about being one because of how cool it is. You get to do so much with it compared to a gun (the weapon that we use in my world for attack, military purposes, and sometimes education for the weak) where you just shoot and reload. It was hell if you don’t like it and for me, it was definitely hell.

“A swordsman? What? Are you interested in that class Kizuki?”

“HELL YEA I AM!”

“Well let's go then, we’re running out of time if we keep talking”

“Alright, swordsman here I come.”

And so both of us walked towards the city hall. We barely made it. Sakura said it should open by daylight and close at night right after the sun setted down and no light is emitted after. The sun was legit an inch from setting. We went up to the city hall. Wow, there’s so much to see. This is so different from the world where I lived.

All the rooms are the same no matter the size or shape. Because of the wireless data planted inside the floors, we don’t need anything besides a projector or a digital screen. But, it was so much different here! Different items around different things, so cool! When we reached the top we got to get our classes. The lady told us to sign the paper and leave a blood imprint on it, then they will take us somewhere for something special.

I wanted to ask Sakura about it but she seems as clueless as I am. Then the lady took us to a room. Unlike the other rooms, this one is extremely weird, it’s covered in black materials and a glass floor and the door has a warning sign on it. I wasn’t sure what to do here.

The lady said,'' This sacred room contains an object that tells a prophecy every 100,000 years. Throughout the years, this is the one time it gave an unusual response. I cannot tell you the entire prophecy but I can tell you a little of it.”

I wonder if it had to do anything with me and Sakura. Sakura was shaking, I couldn't tell if she was scared or excited. Damn my lack of social skills, I can’t even read how people are feeling anymore!

The lady continued,” Last night it said something like this: The night after will change our lives.I’m allowed to tell that because the rest was too complicated for even me to understand. Usually it will say when they arrive but it said night so I waited and waited and you guys were the last to come. And after each prophecy the people who it is assigned to get to grant a rare and special skill though the object. But if you were not called in for this special occasion, you would receive a skill by random through the other glass ball at my desk.”

I looked around and saw no object.

“Where is it?”, I asked.

I look at Sakura. She is looking pretty pale right now, I hope she doesn’t faint. The object was right below us, It was a crystal ball under the glass floor. The lady then used some magic to bring the crystal ball out.

She said,” The skill this crystal is going to choose for you isn’t based on luck but rather the compatibility with your soul. Based on how strong your soul is and how the soul reacts to the experience you feel when touching the crystal, you will be granted the skill.”

Saraka looked up, arms stretched forward, looking like she was going to touch the crystal. She hesitated and finally touched it… A shock of bright golden light filled the room. Moments later it faded away. The lady was shocked.

The crystal ball seemed like it was projecting something! It shows:

Archer class: Legendary Ability: Holy Arrow: Allows the user to send massive amounts of gold arrows or a single powerful arrow at the enemy at the speed of light

The lady was indeed shocked because of how fast her jaw dropped. I was also shocked because of how powerful of a skill that seemed.

The lady looks at me. ”Kizuki, it’s your turn now.”

I stepped forward and took a deep breath. I raised my arm and placed my hand on the crystal. Nothing.. Absolutely nothing. Rage filled with me thinking what the heck is this crystal ball? If I’m not given anything does that mean that I’m useless?! Now even more rage filled me. It seemed like my soul was going to explode because of how much rage I had because I was useless back at my home planet and how that I am still useless in this new world. Then suddenly the room exploded. I got knocked back a little. Once again the crystal ball seemed to be showing something again.

It shows:

Swordsman class: Mythical Ability: Dual Wield: Able to wield two swords while acquiring and using two different skills on the weapons: Can be upgraded to Divine Dual Wielder

I was out of breath and so was everyone else. After the explosion, I got really tired. The lady cleaned up the mess and assigned us to our classes. She also told us that we will be rooming with two other people when we get into the school. We never really talked after the explosion. Saruka changed her class from mage to archer after the event. I’m honestly really tired today, we got a room in a hotel but only with one bed. Kind of embarrassing sleeping with her but it was a difficult day for both of us. Well anyway, good night.
