Darkness it  scares me the most  but also gives me peace . It is only darkness where i  stay away from all pain . It engulf my sorrow within her .

Even in December  cold night , darkness is the only that stay beside me in this small room . i curl up into ball , seeking warmth but the cold air seeping from the window only makes me shiver more . The chill seems to emanate  from every surface - the window , the floor , even my own skin . My body aches , still tender from the beating i endured last night . I try to relax , but my muscles remain tenses , anticipating another blow . It was all because i accidentally broke Aurelia's - my step sister's -favourite toy . she has always been precious about her belongings, especially the golden music box Father gave her . I remember the way it sparkled , like the gold it was named after . Now i am the one broke , like the toy .

Letting my thoughts take over my mind i started to slip into sleep but today luck was not on my side it never was when i feel myself getting drench from cold water . i snapped my eyes opened to see my stepmother standing with the bucket in her hand and anger on her face .

"we are not feeding you , for you to sleep like this . It is already morning where is my fu-king tea . didn't i warn you thousand time " she grabbed my hair harshly  "huh, was i not clear enough . or along with your brain you ears stopped working too "

"should i help you with that " she utter with a sly smile on her face which was followed by a slap on my ear .

ouch that hurt . It stings and my brain cannot comprehend what is happening around . I feel so dizzy , weak , hurt and tired . I just want to close my eyes  and fall into darkness ......................

And there she fainted into darkness where she love the most .

"bitch , just like her mother . can't even handle a slap " she murmured angrily and went outside the room .

Malicia , a 14 year old girl , lived in a grand mansion with her so called father , stepmother , and stepsister . she bore  the punishment for the sins her parents committed , suffering torture and mistreatment . Her own father , the one who should be shielding her from harm , tells Malicia that she shouldn't have been born . The irony - he is the one at fault , yet his power and influence render him untouchable . No one dares point a finger at him , while Malicia bears the pain .
