CHAPTER 5

Mark sat on his office chair thinking about yesterday's incident. He had to find out Jeffrey's plan immediately.

He closed his eyes and saw Bella's haggard face.

His mind went back to seven years ago when he first met her. She was always happy and very beautiful. Although

he disliked her so much that he kept avoiding her but Bella had feelings for him and was happy that she was engaged to him.

When he was struggling with his company affairs due to huge debt he owned, he received a call that she was found guilty for the murder of Ann Grey, he completely hated her for ruining his image and he publicly announced their separation . He knew now that Jeffrey would not let him go especially now that he was drowning in debt.

He remembered how his father's company was a famous image as it ranked the first in the country and then the Dolson's which was the second. But all of it changed several years back as the Dolson's took the lead. And the Anthony's became the second.

All thanks to the blackmail from Jeffrey, he now control most of the Anthony company's activity. He had sixty percent of the shares of his company. He had no choice but to accept the deal with Jeffrey because he knew all the dark secrets of the Anthony group and threatened to expose him. Also he had offered to help his company on the verge of bunkraptcy and the huge debts.

Jeffrey and Mark went to the same highschool but they were never on good terms just as their fathers were. Jeffrey had always vowed to surpass him in the business world of which he eventually did.

And when He heard that his girlfriend killed his beloved mother, it was a huge storm between the two of them.

After Bella's arrest, he had to marry Maya now to keep up the agreement between the two families.

He came to conclusion that he had to do something to gain back his power from the Dolson's and make everyone that looked down on him pay

His thoughts were interrupted when the door opened and Maya walked in rudely and then slammed some papers in her hand on the table Infront of him.

Looking carefully, He saw the word, Divorce agreement at the top. A small smile showed on his face .

"Divorce? Let me see, are you back at eyeing Jeffrey Dolson, or is it you're lover boy, David?"

"Atleast they are not as useless as you"

Mark chuckled.

"Useless, now after you're family company succeeded because of my money now you think so? Fine I will sign it. And you're not taking anything of mine."

"Who cares. You're business is on the verge of collapsing anyway."

"Nice move. You're father's small business will fail too when I go down. I thought you would never thought of divorce anyway." He says while signing the document only after carefully reading it.

Maya's eyes widened with shock as he signed it without any emotions. What a waste of five years. She thought bitterly.

At noon, After the meeting was over, Jeffrey walked towards him.

"You're latest report shows a downward trend in you're key metrics." He began .

Mark sneered and looked away. He knew there would have to be a small argument at this time. Especially when he noticed he was eyeing him throughout the meeting.

"I am aware of the number, Mr Dolson. But, you are focusing on the short term result."

Jeffrey gives a soft laughter which somehow annoys Mark but he is wise to not show it.

"About Bella. What are you planning Dolson..."

"That's non of you're concern. I don't need you breathing down my neck. You know what she did. And I own her now so, keep distance." He said as his expression became more serious.

"And, you know what I am capable of. Don't you dare tell her who Jeff is." He said and walk away.
