chapter 4: The Move

Mason knew his mom would be angry at him for starting a scene at the family reunion so he decided to go home early to pack his things but first took out the chicken his mom was gonna cook so he doesn't get smacked. After mason packed his things in his backpack (and defrosted the chicken) he left the house before his mom got home from the reunion but before he left he decided one thing, he would cut his hair and tried to come up with a new name besides may, he didn't want to be known as a girl anymore he wanted to be someone else, he wanted to be known as Mason Mills, he didn't want to be known as May Rainey, once mason finished what he was doing he finally left the house (about damn time) and went to the bridge again, when he got to the bridge he saw Leah and Sofia, "hm, that guy looks like may like he has the same facial structure!" Sofia said "you dumbass, that is may!" Leah said "ohhh no wonder he looked familiar to me" Sofia responded "why did you cut your hair?" Leah asked, mason knew if he told Leah that he was gonna run away his friend would tell an adult, "I'm moving and I'm moving somewhere hot so I cut my hair so I wouldn't get too hot there" mason answered, scratching his neck "oh! To where?" Sofia asked "uh Arizona? I heard that you could cook an egg on the sidewalk so I assumed it was really hot" mason replied"oh, well I hope you have fun!" Sofia told mason "you'll be back right?" Sofia added "I'm not coming back, I told you I'm moving to Arizona" mason said "tell us the truth, may" Leah said "I'm not lying!" Mason said "you always scratch your neck when you lie" Leah explained, Sofia just looking around and since she didn't know whats happening she started crying "fine, I'm running away" mason answered, feeling guilty for lying to his friends and for making Sofia cry "NUH UH PLEASE STAY WITH US!! PLEASE!" Sofia cried out "hey Sofia, I love you as a friend but no fucking way" mason told Sofia "I'm sure we can find some things for you to do to while your mom is drunk in your backyard!" Leah said "Leah, that's too detailed, what the actual fuck" mason told Leah "I mean I'm not wrong am I?" Leah said "I DON'T WANT YOU TO GO!!" Sofia wailed as she held on to mason's leg "fine I won't go but can I stay at one of you guy's house?" Mason told both Sofia and Leah "you can stay at mine!" Leah said "your mom won't do anything weird like last time?" Mason asked "I promise!" Leah said "okay then" mason replied "can I come too?" Sofia asked "yes" Leah answered.
