\~\~\~\~Ryan's POV\~\~\~\~
So what if it is?
Is that a yes or a no?
Despite wanting to ask specifically, I continued on while keeping a close eye on the girl's expression as I wanted nothing more than to solve the puzzle that she had placed out in front of me.
Was it a challenge?
"How long have you been together?" I added.
"Since fourth grade."
"That long?"
"We were neighbours."
"Still. Didn't you get tired of him?"
"He is the only person who knows me well so." She answered rather instantly without taking even a single second to think before replying to any of my questions.
The boredom in her voice was loud and clear for others to notice it right away but that only made my curiosity to arise even more.
A small grin crept onto my lips as my eyes unconsciously left her coco eyes and down to her figure.
Hm....
She seemed to be holding a little fat which she can get rid off by only a few months of workout. She wasn't curvy on the edges. She was wearing a yellow checked shirt, black plain jeans and some black plain flats which was enough evidence that she was a common girl. Not rich nor poor. The sleeves of her shirt where rolled up and she—
"Ahem." My eyes locked with hers immediately when I heard her clearing her throat. "I am guessing that you're done interrogating me since you are studying my body pretty intensely."
Leo and Mark gave out a chuckle catching my attention. "Dude, stop checking her out. You make her uncomfortable." Leo mocked earning a glare from Jay. He immediately raised his hands to his sides in surrender.
"Scared of a girl." I heard Henry murmur as he type down something on his phone before putting it back in his pocket.
Leo opened his mouth to argue but stopped to look at Jay. Raising an eyebrow in confusion, I also turned my gaze towards her to see a her standing quietly, arms crossed over her chest and an eyebrow raised. "You done?"
\~\~ Jay's POV \~\~
I was losing my patience now. It took me everything to hold myself back from beating the crap out the guys here.
What? Jackson MY boyfriend?
I think I am gonna puke my soul out of my body but before I do that, I need to eat 50 bowls of ice cream and\~ beat the life out of Jackson before making sure that he stays in hell.
I almost let out a blissful sigh while imagining beating up Jackson and then eating 50 bowls of ice-cream but thankfully I didn't.
I watched the red head before me open his mouth to say something but I didn't wait to hear. Turning on my heels, I made my way towards the front door, refusing to waste another second here. "Goodnight Mr. Albert." I said, without turning around.
"Hey, wait." I hear someone other than Mr. Albert call out the moment my hand grasped the door handle but I didn't stop. The bells above jingled as I left the salon and a cold breeze welcomed me to the outside world.
Taking a deep breath, I walked a little farther away from the salon while fishing out my cell from my jean's pocket. Typing in Jackson number, I held it to my ear, waiting for him to pick up.
It reached the voice mail.
"You better not have anything to do with what just happened a few minutes ago Jackson and if you do then you better choose a nice trash can in which I can dump your dead body tomorrow." I kept my tone as calm as possible making sure it was enough to slowly scare the soul out of him.
Putting the cell back into my pocket, I continued to make my way back home. I could hear the distant voice of cars passing by in a flash as I dug my hands in my jean's pocket.
It's getting colder day by day.
"Hey." A cold voice whispered in my ear, making me jump and whip around. With my reflexes getting to work, I swung my fist towards the person behind me with enough force to knock him out but he caught rather instantly. Shivers ran down my spine as I felt the person tighten his grip around my knuckles.
I heard a bunch of 'whoas' from a distance but didn't pay any attention to them as my eyes were glue on a pair of dull blue eyes.
"Slow." Was all he said before letting go of my wrist and breaking our eye contact. He turned his back to me and walked a few feet away— towards the other three boys while I continued to glare at him.
"Self defence?" A gentle voice asked as a figure made his way towards me. It was the white head guy from the salon. I believe his name was.... Mark?
Slowly turning my gaze from the boy, who I assume was Henry, I looked towards Mark to see him come to a stop in front of me. "You know self defence?" He asked again as he smiled genuinely.
"What does it look like?" I asked, rolling my eyes before going back to moving far away from the group. They better not follow me.
"Would you like us to give you a ride home?" It was the guy with the new hair cut— Leo, this time.
"No thank you." I said firmly, hoping that they would get the freaking message. But unfortunately they didn't and continued to follow me. I stopped in my tracks and turned around glaring at them. "Will you guys quit it?"
"Quit what?" Ryan asked acting all innocent which made the anger rise from within me. "We just want to give you a ride home."
"I. Don't. Need. One." I made sure to say each and every word loud and clear. These guys were clearly troublesome and it was obvious that the word 'go away' wasn't in their dictionary. I wonder why Mr. Albert even bother having them around.
"That's too bad." Someone voiced out from the far corner and I turned to look over the boys shoulders in that direction. "And here I though I would let this guy, take you home." A smirking Mr. Albert emerged from the darkness - literally - and made his way towards us before tossing me something. Taking hold of it, I come to realize that was a car key.
This guy?
Frowning, I glanced at the familiar key in my hands and my eyes widened. Looking up and my eyes immediately locked with a pair of pine colour eyes.
Jackson
I turned my gaze towards Mr. Albert questioningly, asking why the hell is this dweeb here. But all I got was the same old sweet smile from Mr. Albert.
Seriously?
"Mr. Albert here told me that you were having some trouble getting back home." Jackson gave me his sweet more like mocking smile as he walked past the guys to come and stand beside me.
He was about to sling his arm over my shoulder as he always did when he was trying to mock me but then he stopped and hesitated. He took a short deep breath before uncomfortably moving his hand around my waist.
Shivers ran down my spine as I turned my gaze to glare at him. 'Hands off!'
'Play along for now.' He answered through his eyes, still faking a smile. I had no idea what he was thinking but I didn't protest knowing that Mr. Albert had some part in this 'play along' thing.
'You better have a good explanation for this.' I glared him once again before turning my gaze towards the guys to see them smiling. I narrowed my eyes at them and then turned my attention back to Jackson when he asked if I was ready to go back home, in his fake sweet voice as he forced himself to give me his lovey dovey eyes.
I think I am gonna be sick.
"Yes." I said in the kindness tone I've ever known. I could see his face go pale for a minute and his eyebrows furrow until he turned away from me, trying to distract himself by looking towards the other guys. His face had turned back to it's normal colour in the next five seconds meaning which was a clear indication that he was distracted now.
The guys took the chance to introduce themselves and to my surprise Ryan and Jackson seemed to have met each other earlier today. They got along pretty well.
After a few minutes of trash talking, Mr. Albert told us to head home which I was extremely thankful for. I was starving and I bet Ajumma was worried about me too since I felt my phone continuously vibrate for the past fifteen minutes but I had no other choice but to decline her calls as I was currently 'playing along' plus I was busy ignoring the fact that Jackson's hand was still on my waist.
I got goosebumps all over my body.
I cost me every single muscle of my body to hold myself back from twisting his hand and break it.
It. Felt. Disgusting!
"Looks like I should get my.... girlfriend back home." Jackson said more like mumbled the 'girlfriend' part, but I bet we all heard it. I felt another shiver run down my spine as I cringed at the words 'my girlfriend'.
After finally bidding goodbyes to everyone, Jackson and I walked towards his green sports car with his arm still around my waist.
The second we were out of anyone's sight, I immediately dug my nails into the skin of his palm but he managed to pull away within two seconds.
He's gotten better.
"Bitch!"
"Bastard!"
We both said that the same time as we instantly jumped away from each other. "I'll have to take a long bath when I get home." I said disgusted, continuously dusting that specific part of my waist which is idiot had dared to touch if I ants were crawling all over me. No, it was worst.
"Same here." He said, wiping his right hand with his shirt. "I hope it's not contagious."
My eye brows furrow as I turned to see what hell was he going on about to see him look at his right hand with pitiful eyes. I rolled my eyes.
"Girlfriend my ***."
/A few minutes later/
It was already 10pm by the time I reached home, even though it was by car. At first, I was against the idea of this dweeb dropping me off and he agreed with me immediately but when I remembered the Mr. Albert had tossed me his car keys, I took the advantage and insisted that I would drive myself home.
Of course, he was 100% against it and opened his mouth to refuse but stopped when he saw that he was at a disadvantage right now and he had no choice but to let me.
The moment I started his car, he began whining like a child and kept praying for himself and his car. He even bid his car goodbye and started saying his prayers and all like he was gonna die.
Drama queen
I decided to ignore him and start the car only to jump in the seat when I heard him shriek like a little girl. Glaring at him, I decided to push the pedal waiting for the car to zoom forward but I got nothing.
The car didn't even move an inch. I looked more like glared at Jackson and asked why the car wasn't moving? He was surprised at first and then started to laugh like an idiot until I pinched his cheeks with all my might.
And so after forcing him to teach me how to drive, we were on the road in no time. I must say that even though my house was only 10 minutes away, we took literally 25 minutes to reach there.
25 five minutes of a Jackson screaming or bumping his head every time the car stopped after every ten seconds and the minute I parked or more like stopped the car, Jackson pulled the brakes before rudely pushing me out of the car and hopping into the drivers seat.
I grimaced in pain when my body made contact with cold surface beneath me. Cursing under my breath, I pulled away from the ground and turned to glare at the bastard who sat there grinning before driving off.
I had let my guard down!
Cursing inappropriate words, I slowly pulled myself to my feet and noticed that I had scraped my right arm and my leg.
This can't get any worst!
After sneaking in through the kitchen door, I went straight up stairs and cleaned my wounds before changing into something sensible and then headed down stairs, only to come face to face with an angry Ajumma.
I guess it just did.
