Two days pass and Theo is eating breakfast when Casper clears his throat and looks at him.

I got in touch with the owner at your barista job.
Theo (O)
*Looks up at him with a mouthful of cereal.*

*Smiles softly.* (Cutie.)
Casper (DA)
I explained to him that you had fallen ill and so couldn’t get into work. But that you’ll be back today.
Theo (O)
*Gasp.* You’re letting me go back?
Casper (DA)
Hm. *Nods.* But you come straight back here when your shift is over. Do you understand?
Theo (O)
Yes. Thank you, Casper! *Grins.*
Casper (DA)
(Holy fucking hell. Don’t get aroused. He only said your name, idiot.)
Theo (O)
(Interesting. Looks like I’ll have to say his name more often.)
Casper (DA)
I’ve been curious about something.
Theo (O)
Hm? *Looks at him quizzically.*
Casper (DA)
Do you not have a phone? You haven’t called the police or a friend.
Theo (O)
Ah. *Shakes his head.* I don’t have a phone. Father always took my money when I got paid so I could never afford one.

Sometimes, I managed to hide some money from him, but it was spent on scent patches and food.

And the police…I don’t trust them.
Casper (DA)
Ha, that’s good. The police are just as corrupt as the government. But is there a reason for your distrust? *Looks at him curiously.*

Theo (O)
The reason I have to wear scent patches at work.
Casper (DA)
*Leans forward to listen carefully.*

Go on. *Smiles softly.*
Theo (O)
*Sighs heavily and looks down into his bowl of milk, all cereal eaten.*

I was on the closing shift at YX and some drunk alpha walked in. He was making a ruckus, so I asked him to leave.
Theo (O)
He didn’t like an omega telling him what to do, so he hit me across the face and then said that I smelt nice. He tried to pull me to the back room and force himself on me, but the beta that I was working with ran out because he saw a cop that had passed by.

Theo could smell Casper’s scent getting stronger, but he didn’t look up.

The officer came and me and my co-worker tried to tell him what had happened, but the alpha that attacked me made a lie that I had been coming on to him and then got cold feet.

Being an alpha, himself, the officer took the alphas side and didn’t even let me make a report. He said that if I did, he would arrest me for false allegations.
It was silent for a few long seconds and Theo gulped down the milk that was in his bowl, wiping his mouth with the back of his sleeve.

*He looks at him, heart racing at his tone.*
He leans across the table to teach Theo’s cheek and Theo is too stunned to move. He looks at Casper with wide eyes, cheeks warm as Casper smiles at him.

I’ll protect you from now. All you have to do is stay with me.
Casper (DA)
I know that my job is scary and you might think that I’m a bad guy, but I won’t ever hurt you.
Theo (O)
O-Okay. *Smiles shyly.*

And I’ll be good and help around the house. I-I’m good at cleaning.
Casper (DA)
(Hm. I can imagine him in a cute little maid outfit.)

Theo runs out of the dining room whilst Casper watches him, curiously.

Theo got dressed for work and walked back downstairs. Ryan was waiting at the bottom of the stairs with another man.

*Hums.* Casper wants to make sure that you’re safe and not taking the bus. This guys job is to drive you to YX and pick you up when your shift ends.

(Casper won’t like to see his omega smiling at another man.)

Casper will probably want to see you when you get home, so find him when you get back. Okay?

*He looks at the driver.* We can go now or I’ll be late.
