I’ve read several novels with this same idea; the FL is a one of a kind unique creature that’s never been seen before, who is a weapons expert, a top of the world hacker, the best racer to have ever existed, very smart and knowledgeable, knows everything and has all the connections in the world - but this is the first time I’m seeing the ML reduced to almost nothing just to elevate the FL. In fact he can’t even compare to her friends basically. Look at Ye Si for instance. He disrespected and disregarded Qin Hanyue multiple times in Qiao Ying’s presence and she never addressed it. She just didn’t care and wasn’t bothered. Somehow Ye Si seems to have more weight and value and power even more than Qin at this point. She’s never once shut him up and told him to not harass her man, she just lets him get insulted and humiliated and he can’t even express dissatisfaction because of her.
At the beginning he was the all powerful Third Young Master, Qin Hanyue, now he’s just like her lackey that follows her everywhere and is constantly seeking for attention. He practically doesn’t go to the office and shows up everywhere for her. He honestly no longer seems as intimidating and high profile as before….I get she’s an assassin and all that, but she’s shown care and concern for others before; Feng Ying’s family, Sacks, the mercenary group, her brother, etc. so she’s obviously capable or it.

I don’t like how Qiao Ying treats Qin. He’s always the one who puts in effort. Always chasing, coaxing, begging, following, feeling jealous, taking care of, protecting (even though she doesn’t always need it, but he’s definitely responsible for her being saved from Dark Shadow), yet she treats him mercilessly, hardly shows emotion, doesn’t care sometimes, everything is based on her mood, she doesn’t respect him, she doesn’t feel guilty when she says and does hurtful things….I don’t like it. She keeps deliberately hurting his feelings whenever she’s angry or not in the mood. It’s too selfish. She’s never actually sacrificed anything for him since chapter 1. The only time she made a concession was when he was drugged, yet she’s still being angry and petty about it, ignoring and hurting him after when she knows how much he loves, wants, and has done for her. You did it willingly so why continue treating him like that.? I don’t think I like her. It’s just too one-sided please.

But why does she treat Qin like that? Taking advantage of his love and care for her? He’s brought himself down and endured so much for her and not saying he shouldn’t or it’s wrong. But it should be mutual. She should also do the same for him. That’s when it makes sense….At this point it’s just annoying to see him chasing her up and down and doing the most while she’s mostly non chalant and dismissive…
