Chapter V

The car came to a stop just as the door opened, letting in a bright light and the sound of laughter. Edgard grumbled before climbing out, holding his hand out for me to take. I smiled up at him as I let him help me out of the car, taking my time to look at the school. It reminded me of those old castles that they would show in the midievil movies with the school flags hanging from the poles. Every kid stopped to stare at me or rather my brother as he headed to get my luggage out of the trunk. I found it pleasantly surprising to see that they had almost the same technology as my era, except for that everything worked with magic stones here.

"I still can't believe that Charles left like that. It's a gentleman's duty to escort a lady to her destination." Edgard sniffed, holding out his arm for me to take

"Apparently he received a very urgent letter that had him running here. But are you complaining of escorting your sister. " I smiled, grabbing hold of his arm.

"Never, I would have faught for the honor of being your escort, still it doesn't excuse his manners." he snorted, bumping his shoulder against mine.

We walked into the dormitory and had one of the attendants show us to my room, where he placed my bag on the small bed... which apparently was something he was not fond off. The room was almost the size of a storage space with a single bed, table, chair and closet. It reminded me of a small apartment that you would rent to stay in. It truly was somewhat cozy. It wasn't the same as my room at home but at least I didn't have to share it with someone else. I had my hands full at calming down my brother until I finally agreed to let him make the room a duplicate of the one at home. He said that the outside will stay small but it's the inside that will be bigger. I sat on the bed and watched as he changed everything and also added a bathroom for me.

"This is truly unnecessary Edgard." I sighed, smiling as my brother inspected every inch of his work.

"You would have had so much better at the Tower, see this is why I don't agree with you being here. You're talent isn't meant for them Kitty." he moaned and fell down next to me on the bed.

"You keep saying such silly things, are you that tired?" I smiled softly as he cuddled onto my lap.

Wizards use up energy that flows through their body to be able to create any type of magic. It's like I give something to receive something in return. If they are not careful they can actually lose a part of their soul, something that they can't get back. Combing through my brothers hair I watched as he fell asleep, letting him catch up on some rest.

He has been fighting our father since he showed up, trying everything he could to take me away. At least I'm happy that he didn't use his magic, I don't think that I would be able to have handled it yet. After a few minutes I pulled the pillow closer and moved his head until he rested on the pillow. Walking out I closed the door quietly and made my way to the receptionist office, I need to receive my schedule and books for the semester. Not wanting to take a break or wanting to have a chance to meet any trouble I took all the classes that they are teaching, I hope that they have planned my schedule as best as they could.

I knocked on the door before heading in, catching sight of a young man standing by the window with a book in his hand. He's tall with black curly hair and what looked like blue eyes, the black glasses that he wore made him look even more handsome. He was dressed in what looked like military clothes, he rubbed his chin before he turned his face and looked straight into my eyes. I stared at him until someone cleared their throat, turning my attention away I looked at the old man sitting behind the desk.

"Welcome Lady Vacell, we are honored to have you attending our academy."

"It is an honor to be accepted here." I nodded, keeping a polite smile on my face.

"I see that you have chosen all the subjects that we have to offer, is there a specific reason for this choice?" he looked at me before going through the stack of paper in his hand.

"I just couldn't pick one or two subjects, they all sound interesting."

"Swordsmanship?"

"My family are excellent swordsmen and I would like to follow." Not to mention that I'm in desperate need of training for protection, I can't bargain on anyone here for protection.

"We have worked on your schedule and hope that it is to your liking." he handed me the paper before leaving.

"Swordsmanship?"

I turned towards the man that's now leaning against the window, it's as if I'm the only one that's able to see him. I walked closer until I was just a step away, taking my time to look at him. He was truly something otherworldly, his skin almost the same pale as my own. The only difference is that those blue eyes also held purple in them.

"Do you think that a lady is not supposed to learn it?" I folded my arms and lifted one eyebrow as I stared at him.

"That's not it, you're the first noble lade I heard about that is going to study it, usually it's normal household things and etiquette." he smiled

"I don't want to be like them, I don't want to live in a cage." I mumbled stepping closer to the window.

"Then what do you plan to do then?"

"To live the way I want to, I've come this far haven't I."

The knock on the door interrupted our conversation, they guy came in and nodded in my direction before continuing to another door.

"You should go before your brother wakes up."

"Yea I should...see you around?"

He just smiled at me before pointing with his eyes toward the door, somewhere inside I felt a bit disappointed as I left him behind. The hallways had started filling up with students laughing and talking to one another, they stopped for a few minutes before they continued their talk in whispers. If I remember correctly according what my sister said about this story, right about now was when the heroine was supposed to enter. I think that she met the male leads in town at one of the festivals and started a relationship with each one of them, I believe that it was the prince who got her into this school and also the one to find out who she was in real life. What a pity that I missed that scene, it would have been interesting to see how they all met and I would have had a better idea how far their relationship has grown. Unfortunately I'm not this obsessed with the prince as the previous owner and I had a few things to take care of, not to mention that I have an older brother that demands attention full time.

"Kitty!" Speaking of the idiot and he shall appear!

"Did you sleep walk Edgard?" I laughed when he grabbed me from the back into a hug.

"I did but you weren't there when I woke up." he yawned and rubbed his eyes.

"I thought it would have made it easier to just to go head and fetch everything that I needed for this year, I was hoping to be back before you woke up to be honest." I smiled, rubbing his chin as he gave another yawn.

"I think I'll be following you for this week before I return to the Tower."

We discussed everything that was happening at the tower as we walked down the hall. Just as we came around the corner I caught the glimpse of every character that was spoken about in the main story. It was like watching a movie in slow motion, the four male leads were holding the female lead back, she on the otherhand was leaning forward to help the Villain of the story to stand up. And look there's my brother standing behind a long black haired man, he had glasses on his nose and blue eyes that were looking lovingly at the girl. He was just a few inches shorter than my brother and already dressed in school uniform. On her other side was a dark brown head man that had muscles that any modern man would be jealous of, his brown eyes were sneering at the guy that was on the floor. The last male lead was the cute kind with almost black eyes and golden hair, he really looked like a prince charming. The female was a small looking girl dressed in the school uniform, her golden curlers were held back with a ribbon and her blue eyes held concern in them. Unfortunately for me I couldn't really see the villain because his back was to me, at least I could see that he's very lean with long black hair also.

A few people stopped and pointed at me before looking back at the six people. It took a few minutes for the group to realize that they were the centre of attention and looked up. It was quite the sight to see the different emotions that flashed through each and every face, but what caught my attention was the most gorgeous purple eyes I have ever seen in my life.
