Getting to know each other

*At 10am*

“Are you ready to leave Aiko?”

“Yeah let’s go”

They walk to the elevator and wait for it to come to level 50. A door to another apartment opens and a guy walks out.

“Daisuke, I didn’t know you were back home already!”

“Haruko, long time no see. I got back home about a week ago”

”Oh, I just got back yesterday night”

“Hey who are you with? Did you finally get your first girlfriend?”

“DAISUKE!!! Don’t embarrass me here. This is Aiko, I met her at the flight yesterday. She was supposed to stay at Hotel B but it got flooded and she needed somewhere else to stay.”

*Aiko giggles and blushes*

“Yeah, I’m Aiko. Nice to meet you Daisuke!”

“Nice to meet you too Aiko!”

The elevator arrives, the three of them get on and go to floor 1. They get along well and have fun talking on the way down. They hug goodbye and Aiko walks with Haruko to the garage.

“Haruko is that seriously your car???”

“Uhm yeah, why?”

“It’s so fancy, I’m jealous”

*Aiko pouts and Haruko laughs at her”

Haruko opens the door for Aiko. She gets in and he closes the door for her. He sits dawn and starts the car. The engine is loud and Aiko gets a bit exalted, a rush of adrenaline flows trough her blood. Haruko starts driving and Aiko enjoys the beautiful view through the passenger window.

“How long have you lived here Haruko?”

“I’ve lived in this city for 10 years but I moved to my own apartment about 3 years ago”

“Where did you live before that?”

“I lived with my family in country A but we moved here to Country M 10 years ago. Both my parents got better job offers here so we just packed up and moved away”

“Oh, what were you doing back in country A?”

“I was just visiting cousins and other family who still live there. Usually I go to visit them once a year or more.”

“Sounds nice, I’ve always wanted to have a big family with loads of cousins. But unfortunately that’s not possible for me.”

“Oh, I’m sorry Aiko. Why not if I may ask?”

“Well… when I was 5 years old my father left my mom for a woman he had an affair with. Before that he used to travel away every week to see other women. My mom couldn’t break up our family so she tried to endure it but he left her in the end. A few years after that he had gotten drunk and ended up killing a family of five in a head on collision caused by him. He survived without any injuries. Somehow the police didn’t arrest him. A while after that happened he got hooked on hard drugs, he ended up divorced from his affair woman because of it. He tried to come back to my mom but she didn’t let him. All he wanted from her was money for drugs. When she rejected him he got so mad that he broke in to our house one night and tried to rob us. My mom was still awake so she called the cops, he heard her speaking to someone on the phone. He barged in to her room and threatened to kill her.”

“Oh shit Aiko I’m so sorry that’s horrible, is he in prison now?”

“Well not really, they did take him there. We tried to get information about what happened to him but the police won’t tell us anything unfortunately. It was 5 years ago that he tried to rob us and we still don’t even know if he’s dead or alive, locked up or living freely.”

“That’s weird, maybe I can help you look in to what happened with him. My mom’s friend is the sheriff here!”

“Haruko that would be too much to ask for!”

“Nonsense let me take care of it”

“Okay, if you want to. But you absolutely don’t need to!”

*Aiko blushes and her stomach is full of butterflies. She can’t stop smiling and tries to look away to hide it*

*Haruko notices but acts like he didn’t see*

Haruko turns the car into a garage and parks. He goes around and opens the door for Aiko. They walk for a bit and end up at a forest with a small trail leading right in. They make some small talk while following the trail.

After walking for 15 minutes they make it out of the woods and get to a big lake with a beautiful waterfall.

“Oh my god Haruko this is beautiful, how did you discover this place?”

“Uhhh well actually… one time my dad took me to the park nearby here. I saw a cute dog running around without a leash and I wanted to catch it so I could bring it back to his owner. He ran into these woods all the way over to this lake. When I was trying to pick him up I was standing on some slippery rocks so I fell in face first into the lake. After I did that the dog got so scared he peed himself, only problem was that I was holding him so he actually peed all over me.”

*Aiko bursts out laughing at Haruko while he’s blushing from embarrassment*

“Okay Aiko stop laughing at me now, let’s go up to the waterfall”
