Thalia stepped into Dimitrei's room, her heart pounding. The room felt so grand and elegant, but it only made her more nervous.

As a junior in the company, meeting Dimitrei was an honor, but also a big challenge, especially since she had just finished her presentation in front of the big boss.

Thalia couldn't shake off her anxiety. The presentation she had just given was still vivid in her mind. Had she given her best? Or were there any mistakes she didn't realize? Her mind was racing with these questions as she finally entered Dimitrei's room, where he was waiting for her, standing and staring at her intently.

As a big boss who was usually in Russia, Dimitrei's arrival at the company in America was very rare. This added to Thalia's level of anxiety. Did his presence this time have a special purpose? Was he going to highlight the small mistakes of all his employees, including Thalia?

Soon, the door closed and Dimitrei told Thalia to sit on the sofa.

"Sit there." Damien only used his chin to point towards the sofa.

His eyes watched Thalia sharply in front of him.

"Did I make a mistake, Sir?" she said in a calm voice even though she was actually trembling.

Thalia swallowed hard. This was the moment she had been waiting for, but also the moment she had been dreading. She tried to stay calm and waited for Dimitrei's answer.

Dimitrei then walked over to Thalia and sat down on the sofa chair in front of her. "You did a good job, a perfect one even. However, there is something I want from you."

Thalia was relieved but also still curious about what Dimitrei wanted from her.

"Is this about work? Am I being transferred?" Thalia asked.

"Wait for my assistant after this. I asked for your CV and I will decide after reading it." His eyes were still fixed on her, sharp and scrutinizing.

Not long after, Tony, the assistant, entered Dimitrei's room carrying a folder containing Thalia's complete data.

"Here, Sir." Tony handed over the black folder and Dimitrei took it.

Thalia was a little surprised by what Dimitrei was doing, what made Dimitrei want to check her in such detail. She had entered this company through such tight competition, so it was impossible for Dimitrei to be looking for flaws in her.

Thalia saw Dimitrei reading all the data about her so seriously, and it made her nervous again. Thalia hoped this wasn't a bad thing, and hoped that it had something to do with her promotion in the company because Dimitrei had said that Thalia's work was perfect and there was nothing wrong with it at all.

For almost twenty minutes, Thalia waited for Dimitrei, who was seriously reading her data document.

‘What is he reading for so long? Is he also reading my complicated family tree which is like a tangled thread?’ Thalia thought.

Until finally the man closed the folder and then put it on the table.

Dimitrei looked back at Thalia and the woman returned his gaze because Dimitrei liked it when the person he was talking to looked at him.

"Do you like working here?" Dimitrei finally asked.

"Yes, of course. Working here is everyone's dream, including mine," Thalia replied honestly.

"I will give you a job and I will pay you many times over. However, this is outside your field. I don't like to negotiate hard, so if you don't accept this job, then you have to get out of here."

Dimitrei's words certainly made Thalia even more nervous because she didn't know what the job was.

"I'm asking you to be my exclusive girlfriend for an indefinite period of time and I have the right to break up with you whenever I want. I will take you to Russia, introduce you to my father. I will not take no for an answer, if you refuse, then get out of this company." The ultimatum certainly left Thalia with no other choice because she really needed the job there and working at Dimitrei's company was her dream.

"Alright, I accept." The answer sounded so easy to say, even though Thalia's mind and heart were in turmoil because she didn't know what she would do next with Dimitrei.
