chap 5: A new day

It was early morning. The birds were chirping, and our protagonist was busy enjoying his morning. Today was nothing of a special day but unknown to him a master was passing by the street with his little granddaughter.even though she is same age as our protagonist we can see a hint of naivety and a bit of mischief on her face.as she was walking by the wood craft shop she can't help but show her little silly face to her precious granddad. Knowing her really well he immediately understood she needs something from him .so he asked under a pretext, " i suddenly has a feeling that i am gonna lose my money.why don't we go back home?". she pouted a little" no grandpa.you promised me you would buy me anything i want right?so let's go to that shop.i heard there is nice wooden toys out there" She said a little anxiously. Seeing her state he can't help but chuckle. he was the mighty clan head of Chen family, yet he always admits defeat infront of his one and only granddaughter. Without further ado they went to the shop.

Without waiting for her grandad she ran into shop and start searching for something interesting.but what caught her attention was not these toys but a boy.he was not strikingly handsome but he was there so engrossed in drawing that he was unaware of his surrounding.she can't help but wonder what has got this boy so engrossed,and what is he doing ?curiosity got the better hold of her. She queitly went there without alerting him she took a peek at his drawing,but she was awestruck by what she saw it was a beautiful drawing of a home in a landscape. With a lush of bamboos and a small waterfall can be seen flowing by the side there were paper lanterns along a pathway and there seems to be a boy sitting there looking at the sky.she didn't know when her gasp escape her mouth .but she quickly covered her mouth flustered when she notices the boy analysing her...seeing her expression puzzled ye mingzhe, but he kept his calm asked her what type of toy did she need .she felt a gush of gratitude for the boy .she said she didn't have a specific type in mind but she asked him if he can draw a picture of her.he was surprised by her demand .even the patriach chen was dumbfounded hearing her request.so he started drawing her.seeing her cute naive face he can't help but tease her and return she will get angry and all puffed up ..seeing yemingzhe laughing under his breath she can't help bu pout.suddenly she found herself liking this boy a lot.

"what's your name?"she asks .

"ye mingzhe"came the reply with another question

"yours?"...

"chen na"...

and so our protagonist made his first friend today.on the sideways three people were silently watching the interaction between children.they were ofcourse his parents and our patriarch chen.patriach chen was looking with a playful mirth.as he was about to tease his grand daughter his eyes fell on one of the picture hanging on the otherside of the wall.it was a picture of a boy and a leopard as if they were playing around each other.it was so beutiful and he can't help but wonder about his childhood too.he too used to dream of going to forest hunting animals and so on but he never meant to be closer to them .to him these animals were just his tools or targets of hunting .the happiness emerging from both the boy and the leopard and the harmonious atmosphere around them made him think profoundly.he ask if he can sell his picture to him to which the protagonist happily agreed by the time he finished painting chenye he was so tired and hungry.after inviting her to come around anytime she need he waved goodbye to her.she also picked one of the revolving type toy and went with her grandpa back home with a smile.
