Bound by Fate, Torn by Hate~~~ (Chapter 1)

"In the blink of an eye, Gukk lost everything he knew—his name, his life, even his reflection—but in the depths of an unfamiliar world, he found a truth he never expected: sometimes, the only way to survive is to become someone else."
.
.
.
The rain came down in relentless sheets, soaking Gukk to the bone as he sprinted through the streets of Seoul. His hoodie clung to him like a second skin, and the water pooled in his sneakers with every step he took. Despite the miserable weather, music blasted through his headphones, filling his ears with the comforting beats of his favorite playlist.
Gukk
Gukk
“Stupid weather app,” Gukk grumbled, glancing up at the darkened sky.
Gukk
Gukk
“Said it wouldn’t rain until tonight.”
Gukk
Gukk
“Why does it always rain when I’m in a rush?” Gukk muttered under his breath, his voice drowned out by the storm.
The café was just a few blocks away, but it felt like an eternity as the icy rain lashed against his face. Pulling his hood tighter, he glanced down at his phone, squinting to see the glowing screen through the droplets. A notification from Jimin lit up.
Jimin: Hey, Gukk, running late! Be there in 10. Don’t drink all the iced Americanos!
Gukk smirked, his fingers fumbling as he typed a reply.
Gukk
Gukk
Gukk: "You mean MY iced Americano? You snooze, you lose."
Gukk
Gukk
Gukk: "I’ll save you a sip if you’re lucky."
His chuckle was cut short by a loud clap of thunder that seemed to shake the ground beneath him. He flinched, slipping his phone back into his pocket as he reached the crosswalk. The light was red, and the street before him was empty, save for the glistening reflection of neon signs on the wet asphalt.
Gukk
Gukk
“Could this day get any worse?” Gukk grumbled, shifting his weight impatiently from one foot to the other. He glanced at his watch.
Gukk
Gukk
“Come on, I’m going to be late for work if Jimin takes forever.”
As the light turned green, Gukk stepped onto the street, his thoughts drifting. He thought of the unfinished song he’d been working on late into the night. The melody still hummed in his mind, a distraction he welcomed from the dreary day.
Then it happened.
The faint sound of an engine revving cut through the rain, but Gukk didn’t notice. He was too busy rehearsing lyrics under his breath.
Gukk
Gukk
“Love is like rain… washing away the pain…” he murmured, oblivious to the blaring horn in the distance.
“HEY! WATCH OUT!” someone screamed, their voice barely audible over the storm.
Gukk’s head snapped up, his heart stopping as he spotted the blinding headlights of a truck speeding toward him.
Time slowed.
The truck’s tires screeched against the wet pavement, but it was too late. Gukk’s body froze, his legs rooted to the spot as his mind raced. Move! Move! his instincts screamed, but fear paralyzed him. In that split second, memories of his life flashed before his eyes—his childhood spent in a small apartment with his grandmother, the countless hours he’d poured into his music, the laughter he’d shared with Jimin during late-night café runs.
Gukk
Gukk
“I… I can’t die now,” Gukk whispered, his voice trembling.
The truck’s horn blared louder, closer, until— Everything went black.
.
.
Floating in the darkness, Gukk’s thoughts spiraled. Is this… death? He felt weightless, his body no longer bound by gravity or pain. But there was no peace only regret.
Gukk
Gukk
“I didn’t get to finish my song,” Gukk murmured, his voice echoing in the void.
Gukk
Gukk
“I didn’t get to tell Jimin how much his friendship meant to me. I didn’t even say goodbye to Grandma…”
Tears pricked at the corners of his eyes as he thought of his unfinished dreams, the life he’d barely begun to live.
Gukk
Gukk
“This isn’t fair,” he whispered, clenching his fists—or at least he thought he did. It was hard to tell if he even had a body anymore.
Gukk
Gukk
“I had so much left to do.”
A faint light appeared in the distance, growing brighter with each passing second. Gukk squinted, shielding his eyes.
Gukk
Gukk
“What is that?” he muttered, fear and curiosity warring within him.
The light consumed him, pulling him forward like a tide.
Gukk
Gukk
“Wait! No, I’m not ready!” Gukk shouted, struggling against the force.
Gukk
Gukk
“Please, give me another chance!”
.
.
Gukk’s eyes flew open, and he gasped for air, his chest heaving as though he’d been holding his breath for hours. The world around him was no longer the rain-soaked streets of Seoul but a room bathed in the soft glow of oil lamps.
Gukk
Gukk
“What the…?” Gukk muttered, his voice raspier than usual.
He sat up, his hands sinking into the silken sheets beneath him. The scent of incense and flowers filled his nose, a stark contrast to the exhaust fumes and wet concrete he’d last known.
Gukk
Gukk
“Where am I?” he whispered, glancing around the ornate room. The walls were painted in rich golds and reds, adorned with intricate carvings and luxurious furnishings.
Gukk’s confusion turned to alarm as he looked down at himself. Gone were his drenched hoodie and jeans, replaced by heavy silk robes.
Gukk
Gukk
“What… is this?” His heart raced as he held up his hands—slender and pale, with perfectly groomed nails.
Gukk
Gukk
“These aren’t my hands!”
Scrambling out of bed, Gukk stumbled toward a large mirror near the corner of the room. The reflection that greeted him wasn’t his own.
Gukk
Gukk
“What the hell?” Gukk whispered, touching his face in disbelief. The mirror showed a stranger—sharp, elegant features, long jet-black hair cascading over his shoulders, and piercing dark eyes that seemed to hold a story he didn’t know.
Gukk
Gukk
“I’m… not me,” he said, his voice barely audible.
Gukk
Gukk
“Who am I?”
Memories that weren’t his own began to flood his mind—flashes of a grand palace, heated arguments with a man who radiated authority, and the weight of a ring that felt like a shackle.
“Jungkook,” a voice suddenly called from beyond the door, snapping Gukk out of his thoughts.
Gukk
Gukk
"Jungkook?” Gukk repeated under his breath, the name foreign yet strangely familiar.
The door burst open, and a man in an ornate uniform stepped inside. His expression was stern, his voice commanding.
Eunch
Eunch
“Young Master Jungkook, you’re finally awake. The Emperor demands your presence immediately.”
Gukk
Gukk
“E-Emperor?” Gukk stammered, his head spinning.
Eunch
Eunch
“Yes, Emperor Taehyung,” the man said impatiently, stepping aside to allow Gukk to follow.
Eunch
Eunch
“Don’t keep him waiting.”
Kim Jungkook
Kim Jungkook
"T..Taehyung" whispered
