Chapter 3 - Just A Touch Of Death

The entire kingdom of euphoria was in total chaos and despair after the sudden death of Duke Ambros who was also the general of the imperial army.

Celestina who was the cause of this chaos sat in front of her father in his study room ready for the punishment he had in prepared for her.

"You killed him, didn't you? "

King Demetrius asked as he narrowed his eyes at Celestina who lower her head letting her fiery red hair fall over her face.

Celestina gulped. "I didn't want to... "

The king bang his fist on the table before sweeping away the documents on his table with his hand.

"But you did! I clearly warned you not to mingle with anyone but you just had to defy me. Now duke Ambros is dead!"

"I didn't mingle with anyone! I was in the garden when Duke Ambros suddenly tried to..."

Celestina stopped unable to finish her words.

"Finish your words!!"

The king yelled and Celestina hesitantly spoke.

"...he tried to lay with me against my will"

The king kick the wooden table in rage making Celestina flinch in surprise.

"Then you should have allowed him!!!"

King Demetrius words made Celestina shoot out of her sit in disbelief, anger and hurt wishing she had misheard his words.

"How could you say something like that...." she took a moment to breath and to stop the rebellious tears threatening to spill out of her eyes.

"If it was Estella..... would you have said the same thing? "

The king frown at Celestina's question as his lips pulled up in a hateful sneer.

"Estella is nothing like you. She's not a murderer like you Celestina so put her holy name out of your cursed mouth "

The king said harshly without any regards for Celestina's feeling.

Celestina blinked her eyes rapidly to clear away the tears that were threatening to spill out as she bowed her head to the king.

"If that is all you have to say, I shall take my leave your majesty "

Celestina turns around to leave after her father's heart shattering words but of course she didn't blame him for saying those words, she only blame herself for being born with a curse.

"Wait Celestina, I'm not done talking "

The king said with a sigh making Celestina return to her sit opposite her father.

"What else do you need me for, your majesty?"

Celestina asked as she took her sit now staring indifferently at her father.

"The Duke is dead....because you killed him. And we now have different supernatural kingdoms threatening to wipe us off the face of the planet. And it's your fault we're in this situation. ".

Celestina took in a deep breathe trying to maintain her indifferent expression as the thick vine of guilt started wrapping itself around her throat.

"What can I do to help ...? "

Celestina asked in a low voice and the King's lip stretched in an evil grin secretly.

"There is only one thing you can do Celestina my child. 'Kill the enemy' "

Celestina frowned in confusion at her father's word.

"What do you mean?" she asked

" What I am saying is that we have to get rid of our enemies, the supernatural creatures. We are humans Celestina, the weakest of all creatures. If we can just get rid of them, we won't have to live in fear as we await the day they decide to destroy us "

The king explained making Celestina gulp nervously.

"And what does this have to do with me? "

She asked slightly shaken.

"You Celestina are the Kingom's greatest weapon "

king Demetrius said harshly making Celestina shake her head.

"I don't get where you're going with this, I think I'll just take my leave"

Celestina said in a hurry, but her words didn't match her thoughts because she knew where their conversation was heading to, so she quickly stood up to leave.

"I'll be sending you to the land of dragons, the Aragon empire "

Celestina who was already halfway out of the study room paused abruptly at her father's crazy and absurd statement.

She turns back slowly. "You don't mean that, do you? "

She asked not believing he would make such stupid decisions.

"Yes I do, and I will be marrying you off to their king, Vladimir Talon Demonia "

Celestina shake her head furiously refusing to believe. "You can't possibly be serious about that"

"I am seriously about it"

The king answered casually making Celestina step back in shock and horror.

"You want to marry me off to a monster? "

Celestina asked still in a state of disbelief and the king answered without a hint of hesitation.

"Yes... but it's all for the greater good. It pains me to do this but sometimes... you have to make sacrifices "

Celestina ruffles her hair and screamed in frustration and anger at her father's words.

"Don't give me that bullshit father! "

She yelled making the king bang his fist on the table. "You will not speak to me that way young lady "

Celestina breathes shakily in anger." You told me yourself that dragons are barbaric creatures who feed on the flesh and blood of we human, and now you want to marry me off to their king?"

She asked her eyes now filled with angry tears.

The king sighed "You won't be married to him for long because you'll be killing him"

The king explained making Celestina shake her head furiously once again.

"I'm not doing it. I am not killing anyone for you! "

"Well you should have thought about that before killing the Duke. If you kill the king while you're his queen and no one finds out, we will have the entire Aragon army supporting us"

The king backfired.

She shakes her head "I don't care anymore. I am not going to marry the king of Aragon and that is final. I guess Estella is going to be the one to get married "

Celestina said in anger with tears now streaming down her face.

"I would never send my daughter into the hands of a monster! "

"I am also your daughter!! "

"Silence! You are a murderer, and you have to pay for your sins. I would never sacrifice my beloved daughter "

King Demetrius said, clearly showing that he favored Estella more than his cursed daughter.

Celestina wiped away her tears as sniffled trying to hold in her tears.

"Why does it have to be me... ?"

The king stood up from his chair before walking over to the almost broken Celestina.

"Because you're the only one that can save us. All you need to do is to touch the dragon king "

The king held Celestina's shoulders as he whispered wickedly into her ears like the devil himself.

"Just a touch.... "

She whispered as more tears roll down her eyes.

"Yes Celestina, just a touch of death "

Celestina took in a deep breathe before nodding her head slowly.

"I'll do it... but on one condition "

Celestina stated shrugging off the King's hand from her shoulders.

"Anything "

He promised.

"I want freedom. If am not able to kill him and I come back alive.... I want a life outside the palace and I never want to see you again"

The king was shocked by her unexpected request, but he immediately nodded his head not wanting her to change her mind.

"That can be arranged "

The king said with a loud laugh as Celestina wiped her wet cheeks clean.

"When do I leave? "

She asked without a hint if emotion as if all her feelings had dried out.

"I have sent the king a marriage proposal, so you should go early in case he decides to reject it "

Celestina stepped away from her father coldly and with a broken heart.

"If that is all then I'll take my leave "

Celestina said and without any curtsey she walked out of the study room with a gloomy expression on her face and found someone she didn't want to see at that very moment. Her half sister Estella.

A small frown appeared on Estella's round and pretty face making her look pitiful and sad.

"Are you okay sister? Why are your eyes so puffy? Did you cry?"

The golden hair beauty asked as her blue eyes gathered tears making Celestina frown.

"You don't have to fake your worries. We both know how much you dislike me "

Celestina said with a sigh not wanting to deal with her crazy younger sister who hated her gut.

Tears gathered in her eyes. "How can you say such a thing sister? I don't dislike you... "

Estella said in her overly sweet voice before leaning closer to celestina's ear and her sweet and innocent expression suddenly changed to an ugly one.

"....I hate you, don't get that wrong "

Estella continued in a dark tone which sounded nothing like her usual sweet one and pulled away from Celestina's short physique before forcing back a sweet and innocent expression which covered up her devilish nature perfectly.

"I'm so glad that father has finally decided to get rid of you. You don't know how sick I get whenever I see your face "

Celestina rolled her eyes at her sister's usual word.

"I don't have time for this Estella "

Celestina said before walking away, but before she could go far her gloved wrist was suddenly grabbed in a death grip by Estella, and she forced a convincing smile on her face before saying to her.

"Do me a favor as my darling older sister and never come back. I'm sure the entire kingdom will forget you like you never existed... you cursed bitch."

She let go of Celestina's wrist before taking off her gloves in disgust.

"Now...if you'll excuse me "

Estella said before walking past Celestina into her father's study room leaving Celestina to stare blankly ahead.

"Hello father"

"Oh my dear Estella, I see you've come to visit this old man of yours"

"You and your silly jest "

Celestina ignored the voice of the loving father and daughter which she could hear through the door and walked away to her chamber ignoring every knight and maid she came across.

'They will never love me... it's better to just leave'

She thought before walking away to prepare for her journey to the land of dragons to marry the infamous king.... and kill him.
