The Lion’s Eye

Luna and Leo walked around the kingdom, looking for any signs of the princess. They saw many flyers with her picture and a reward for her capture. They also saw some posters with the king's face and a message of loyalty and obedience. They realized that the king was very powerful and feared in the kingdom.

They tried to blend in with the crowd and avoid attracting attention. They asked some people if they knew anything about the princess, but they only got vague or hostile answers. They learned that the princess was hated and blamed for the war and the famine that plagued the kingdom. They also learned that the king had a secret weapon that he planned to use against the forest and its inhabitants.

They wondered what the secret weapon was and how they could stop it. They also wondered why the princess was hiding in the forest and what her secret was. They felt that there was more to the story than they knew.

They decided to look for the palace, hoping to find some clues there. They followed the directions of a friendly shopkeeper, who told them to take the main road and turn left at the fountain. They thanked him and headed towards the palace.

They reached the fountain, which was a large and beautiful structure with a statue of a lion in the center. They admired the fountain for a moment, then turned left as the shopkeeper had told them.

They did not notice that the statue of the lion had moved slightly and was watching them with a curious and intelligent gaze.

Luna and Leo continued their way to the palace, unaware of the lion's eye following them. They passed by many buildings and people, but they did not see anything that resembled the palace. They wondered if they had taken the wrong turn or missed the palace somehow.

They decided to ask someone for directions. They spotted a young girl selling flowers on the side of the road. She had long brown hair and green eyes. She wore a simple dress and a straw hat. She smiled at them as they approached her.

"Hello, do you want to buy some flowers?" she asked them.

"Hello, no thank you. We're looking for the palace. Do you know where it is?" Luna asked her.

"The palace? Sure, I know where it is. It's right over there." The girl pointed to a large and majestic building that stood at the end of the road. It had white walls, golden roofs, and red flags. It was surrounded by a high fence and guarded by more soldiers.

Luna and Leo felt embarrassed that they had not noticed the palace before. They thanked the girl and gave her some coins for her help.

"Thank you, you're very kind. What are your names?" the girl asked them.

"I'm Luna and this is Leo. We're travelers from the forest." Luna said.

"The forest? Wow, that's amazing. I've never been to the forest. What is it like?" the girl asked.

"It's beautiful and peaceful. There are many animals and plants. There is magic and mystery. There is freedom and adventure." Leo said.

"That sounds wonderful. I wish I could go to the forest someday. But I'm stuck here in the kingdom. I have to sell flowers to survive. My name is Rose, by the way." the girl said.

"Rose, that's a lovely name. It suits you. You're like a rose in this dull and gray kingdom." Luna said.

Rose blushed and smiled. "Thank you, you're very sweet. You're like a moon in this dark and scary kingdom." she said.

Luna and Leo felt a connection with Rose. They liked her and wanted to befriend her. They decided to invite her to join them.

"Rose, we're going to the palace to look for something. Do you want to come with us? We could use your help and company." Luna said.

Rose hesitated. She wanted to go with them, but she was afraid of the palace and the king. She had heard many stories about the palace, none of them good. She had heard that the palace was full of secrets and dangers. She had heard that the king was cruel and ruthless. She had heard that the princess was a traitor and a rebel.

She did not know what to do. She looked at Luna and Leo, who smiled at her and held out their hands. She looked at the palace, which loomed over her and cast a shadow on her. She looked at the lion, which winked at her and nodded its head.

She made up her mind. She took Luna and Leo's hands and followed them to the palace. She hoped that she was making the right choice.

She did not know that she was about to discover the truth about the princess, the king, and the secret weapon. She did not know that she was about to change the fate of the kingdom, the forest, and the world.
