Creeping Coldness : Is the Reflection a Friend or a Foe?

Darpan walks out of the room, trying to figure out where the strange voice is coming from. He has been hearing it for a while now, but it seems to be getting clearer and closer. He feels a sense of unease in the dark, as if someone is watching him. He checks around but sees nothing, and the voice seems to be coming from all directions. He checks every room but can't find the source of the sound.

He stops outside his mother's room, and the voice suddenly stops. He feels strange for a moment, and continue to looks at door.

"Is it my imagination", he thinks.

The door creaks open on its own, making him jump. He cautiously touches the door, wondering if there's something wrong with it.He again checks his surrouding. But everything seems fine. He then turns to look at his mother, who is fast asleep on her double bed. He notice that the room is unusually bright for nighttime. He looks around and realizes that his mother has forgotten to close the windows. The only source of light in the room is coming from the window opposite his bed.

As he walks towards the window, he hears a strange voice. It's a low, whispering sound that sends shivers down his spine. He stops in his tracks and looks around, but there's no one in the room. He shrugs it off, thinking it's just his imagination playing tricks on him. But the voice continues, getting louder and more distinct.

It seems to be coming from the mirror attached to the cupboard beside his mother's bed. He walks towards it and looks into the mirror. But there's something strange about it.

As he looks into the mirror, he sees two shining dots staring back at him. He searches the room but finds nothing that could be reflecting those dots. He looks back at the mirror, and the dots seem to be getting closer to him. This time, he feels a chill run down his spine. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest.

He turned to look at the room, but everything seemed normal. However, in the mirror, he can see a strange darkness that seems to be getting darker with each passing second.

His reflection in the mirror seems to be smirking at him, and he can't understand what's happening. His mind is racing, trying to make sense of what was happening, but before he thinks about anything, he feels a strange force push him down. He looks at his mother, hoping she will wake up and help him, but she seems undisturbed by the sound.

Feeling scared, he tries to get up, but he suddenly feels an unbearable pain in his shoulder. It's as if someone is crushing his bones. He cries out for his mother, but she doesn't respond. He looks back at the mirror and sees his reflection getting closer and closer, with a sinister smile on its face.

His heart is racing, and he's now terrified. He tries to get up again, but the pain in his shoulder is too much. It's then that he realizes that the strange coldness he has been feeling is coming from the hand that's holding his shoulder tightly. But when he turns to look, there's no one there. It's as if the hand is invisible, but he can feel its grip getting stronger.

In a state of panic, he looks back at the mirror. This time, he sees his reflection laughing at him. He can't understand what's happening, but he knows that he has to get out of there. He musters all his strength and manages to break free from the invisible grip. He runs out of the room, not caring about the pain in his shoulder.

As he reaches the living room, the pain suddenly stops, and he looks back to see that his shoulder is back to normal. He can't believe what has just happened. He looks up at his mother's room, but everything seems normal from the outside.

The force he feels on his shoulder disappears. It is a long and tiring day for him, and he finally relaxes and unwinds as he sits on his couch. He lets out a sigh of relief, feeling the weight of the day slowly lifting off his shoulders. Little does he know that this moment of peace is about to be disrupted.

Suddenly, a wave of weakness courses through his body, causing him to collapse onto his knees. He is completely caught off guard, unaware of what is happening to him. His mind races, trying to make sense of the sudden change in his body. He starts to lose his vision, and his body collapses on the ground.

"Avanti," he says before falling onto the ground.

(Next Morning)

Darpan slowly opens his eyes, everything around him is blurry. He tries to sit up, but his head starts spinning and he falls back down. He looks around and realizes that he is in the living room. He tries to recall the events from last night, but his mind is still foggy. It takes him a few minutes to realize that it is morning and he must have fallen asleep on the floor of the living room.

As he tries to get up, he feels a sharp pain in his back. He slowly gets on his feet and walks towards the kitchen to get a glass of water. As he drinks the water, he starts to remember bits and pieces of the previous night.

He wals towards his mother's room and stops. He observes the door for a minute. He touches the handles and slowly opens its. His mother is still sleeping, unaware of the chaos that had happened last night. He looks at her peaceful face and feels a sense of relief. He notices a mirror, beside his mother's bed and walks towards it. He stands in front of the mirror and looks at his reflection. Everything looks normal. He touches the mirror but everything is fine.

He starts to feel a sense of relief wash over him. Maybe it is all just a bad dream. He walks back to the living room and starts to clean up the mess.

He hurries to the bathroom, his footsteps echoing in the quiet hallway. The morning light seeps through the curtains, making soft shadows on the walls. After splashing water on his face, Darpan still feels uneasy about last night. He stands on the cool bathroom tiles for a moment, trying to calm his mind. Changing into fresh clothes helps a bit, but when he looks in the mirror, he sees worry in his own eyes.

"Try to forget it," he tells himself quietly, but the doubts stick around.

Going downstairs, he finds his mom on the couch. She looks tired, and it worries him. He sits beside her, feeling unsure. Her voice, when she speaks, lacks its usual warmth.

"Are you leaving", she asks.

Darpan feels a heaviness in his heart seeing his mom like this. He reaches out to hold her hand, trying to comfort her, even though he's worried too. Despite his efforts to hide it, his concern shows on his face.

"Wait, I'll make you some breakfast," his mother says, sounding worried.

Darpan isn't sure what to do. He wants to stay with his mom, but he also wants to figure out what happened last night. "No, it's okay. I'll eat something later," he says, trying to hide how confused he feels.

Even though he says he's not hungry, His's mind is busy with thoughts from the night before. He really wants to know what happened. Despite telling his mom he's fine, he can't stop thinking about it.

"It's not good to leave without eating. I'll make you something," she says, sounding worried about him.

He feels torn. He wants to figure out what happened last night, but he also doesn't want to worry his mom. "Okay, I'll wait," he says finally, feeling grateful for her concern but also a bit nervous.

His mom goes to the kitchen, and Darpan can tell she's thinking about him. He stays where he is, looking towards his mom's room.

Maybe it was just a dream," he whispers to himself, trying to convince himself it wasn't real.

But no matter how hard he tries, he can't shake off the memories. They keep coming back, making him feel uneasy and unsure.

After finishing his breakfast, he notices his mom isn't herself. Instead of saying goodbye warmly, she just whispers, "I'll wait for you," and heads to her room without looking at him. Her sadness fills the house, making everything heavy and hard.

He wishes he could help her feel better, but he doesn't know how. So, with a heavy heart, he leaves for the day, knowing his mom needs time to grieve.

As he leaves home, he's filled with lots of different feelings. He knows he has to find out what really happened to his dad, whether it was an accident or something else. But he also feels like he wants to be with his mom more. Seeing her so sad makes him really upset.

He feels guilty too because he didn't tell his mom everything about what happened to his dad. He was scared of making her feel even worse. But now he knows it's better to be honest, even if it's hard.

Every step he takes is tough. He's torn between wanting to find out the truth and wanting to protect his mom from more pain. But he knows he has to be strong for both of them.
