The Gala

Things seemed to be going unwell for Milani as fear was now paralyzing her body like a disease, The fear of Ken beating her up and taking advantage of her. The last time she got beaten by Ken she lost her first child from her late husband. Milani heard some banging on the door that disturbed her troubled mind. The last thing she wanted right now was to have the Scott family making things worse for her. Milani walked slowly and carefully towards the door, and she opened it, but to her relief it was some delivery man.

Delivery Man: Are you Milani Scott?

Milani:( licking her dry lips) Umm, Yes.

Delivery Man: How are you related to Mr Scott?

Milani: He is my husband.

Milani said while showing her ring to the delivery man,the delivery man handed Milani her package and some documents that she needed to sign.Milani signed the documents and she handed them to the delivery man and she got in the house. She went to the kitchen where she saw Ken sitting on top of the kitchen counter, Milani cleared her throat as fear slowly crept in her.

Ken: Scared aren't you?

Milani kept quite and she looked at Ken as she wanted to kill him.

Ken:Well you see that package that you have got there?

Milani: Hmmm.

Ken: Well that's the things that you need to wear tonight so you better go upstairs and prepare yourself.

Milani: Ken, Can I talk to you about something really important?

Ken:(Shouting) There is nothing to talk about here, So go upstairs and prepare yourself. You know what you did earlier on and I am being kind enough by not taking my revenge.

Milani went upstairs and she did all her necessities and she wore all the things Ken got for her. Ken walked in the room and he found Milani looking at herself in the mirror.

Ken: Looking pretty wifey.

Milani: As if you care.

Ken walked towards Milani and he touched Milani 's hips and he kissed her cheek.

Milani: I have to grab a drink.

Ken let go of Milani' s hips and he prepared himself and Milani went to the kitchen and she called Loraine.

Loraine: Hey friend.

Milani: Well I hate this situation that I am in. I mean that monster placed his hands on my hips and he kissed my cheek.

Loraine: Did he hurt you?

Milani: No, but he just acted as nothing happened but he threatened me.

Loraine:He is a psychopath.

Milani: Well enough about me, Where's your little girl.

Loraine: She is fine but she misses her other mom.

Milani: Ncoow! Well her other mom misses her too.

Loraine: Maybe tommorow we could have a mothers and daughter date.

Milani: That's a great idea, I think I should clear my schedule so that I can come to see you guys.

Loraine: I have to go so goodbye.

The call ended and Milani had a deep voice behind her back.

Ken:Who are you seeing tomorrow?

Milani: I didn't notice you there.

Ken: Well that's because you were busy talking to your boyfriend.

Milani: That was not my boyfriend, and I am going to see Loraine and her daughter tomorrow.

Ken: Well I don't care, and you are not going anywhere tomorrow.

Milani: But can I have them come over?

Ken: That can't happen, but please don't cry you are going to ruin your makeup.

Milani: Ken I will make it up to you please.

Ken: Go and fetch your hand bag so that We can both leave.

The Golden household

Claire Golden looked at old pictures of her little Milani. Life has never been the same since her departure, It has been 6 years since she and her husband saw her. It was her fault that her daughter was disconnected from her own family, She was obsessed with giving her daughter a good life that she ended up compromising her daughter's happiness in the process of doing so. She had to force her daughter into early marriage , and we'll at first she ripped fine fruits from that marriage but then as time went things changed.

Claire 's eyes got teary and tears slowly went down her eyes and her husband opened the door and he comforted her.

Andy: We have already lost her, Getting her from the Scott family would put her life in danger.

Claire:(Sobbing) But we have lost the only thing that we have in this world, What's the point of me drinking medication to live while my daughter is out there suffering.

Andy: Claire my love, Milani wouldn't like to see you give up your life like this let's have some hope.

Claire: I remember when I first touched her, She was the most precious thing to me, My beautiful baby.

Andy : We can't afford to lose hope, That's what Milani would want for us.

Claire: Andy it hurts I feel as if my heart has been broken into a million pieces.

Andy : I also feel the pain you are feeling but I cannot afford to see you in pain, But I have a plan.

Gala dinner

Ken walked in the gala dinner with Milani as they were holding hands. The dress that Milani wore tightened her as it showed her beautiful model body . Ken acted like a gentleman throughout the dinner as he did nice gestures for her like pulling the chair for her and pouring food and wine for her. Everyone saw Ken as the nice husband he acted to be, but in real life he was an abusive psychopath that needed rehabilitation. All the people did was to talk about business and their so called " perfect lives".

lady1: Ken you seem like a gentleman, Milani you are so lucky to have him.

Milani faked her smile but her heart longed that Ken would really be a true gentleman.

The gala dinner ended and Ken and Milani went to their house.
