Episode 3

The palace corridors echoed with murmurs about the bride's arrival, while Magnus found himself in the gardens in his special seat designed to allow him to sit or lie down. The king had ordered the construction of a small triangular support with a wheel at the end, which could be moved easily. When placed on the ground with the support in the back, it allowed Magnus to choose between lying down or sitting up. Whispers with his name reached his ears, provoking a growing anger, which was soon appeased by his sharp senses that captured Fenrir's footsteps approaching.

"My prince, have I provided your bride?" Fenrir says as he sits in front of him with a smile.

"The most beautiful in the kingdom," he added, concluding his speech. Magnus watched him for a moment, not understanding why Fenrir treated him with such formality. He was the only friend who remained by his side after the accident that took his parents' lives.

"Perfect. Alistar will be furious when I present my bride," Magnus said, imagining the expression on his face.

"You know he won't allow it," Fenrir said with a smirk. Magnus realized he had something more to say and waited patiently.

"Your bride arrived at the castle today," Fenrir revealed.

"It was the king's decision, he'll marry in my place," Magnus retorted angrily.

"You should at least see her," Fenrir suggested Magnus had no interest in anything that came from the king.

"I'll see her tomorrow, during the presentation. If my eyes are good, it's still blurred," Magnus said, rubbing his eyes. In reality, Alistar had already taken his father's throne, becoming the alpha by conquest. He wouldn't rule his life. Hurried footsteps approached them and Magnus and Fenrir exchanged glances. he knew those footsteps; it was the counselor, who had previously been his father's.

"My prince, the king wishes to see you," the counselor said. The man's heart rate changed considerably as he approached him.

"I'm sunbathing, I'll meet him later," Magnus replied, realizing the importance of the call.

"My prince, the king wishes to speak to you about your bride, who is already in the castle," the counselor said cautiously.

"I don't want this marriage, and you know that," Magnus replied, losing patience.

"My prince, I understand that you don't want this marriage. If I may say so..." the counselor began to speak, and Magnus nodded for him to continue.

"The king is trying to do what is best for the prince. He will be offended by your refusal," the counselor explained. This way of speaking infuriated Magnus, and he growled in response.

"What has the king done for me in my disability? If Fenrir hadn't thought of this chair, I would be stuck in a room. Where was the king when I needed him? I grew up with you two, I don't care about him. Tell him I'll go as soon as I'm done here, and if he wants me to marry, I will marry," Magnus ordered. The counselor nodded and left hurriedly, with his heart racing.

Fenrir looked around, seeking to see if anyone was nearby. Realizing they were alone, he turned to Magnus with a worried expression.

Magnus:

"Shall we solve that problem?" Fenrir asked, with a worried expression.

I understand your reasons, I think.

"Yes, we need to intervene in that," I replied, reflecting on the situation. He continued speaking, his voice laden with concern.

"I'm on his trail, but he always disappears when I'm getting close. It intrigues me," Fenrir said, referring to the black wolf that attacked Magnus' parents. On that damn day, moments before my father's heart stopped beating, he revealed to me the existence of another wolf.

"I feel like he's close," I said, thoughtfully.

"You mentioned that the king warned you to be careful in the castle. Something is happening here!" Fenrir said, with a worried look, letting out a long sigh.

"Therefore, we need to act with caution," I added, aware that with each passing day, I felt the need to remain vigilant.

"Let's not keep the king waiting any longer," Fenrir said, getting up and picking up my special support. He pushed me through the gardens and corridors towards the throne room. Upon arriving, I felt the tension in the air. The king's heart was racing, and his voice sounded worried as he spoke with his trusted counselor, who seemed to be imbued with fear.

"I don't want this to leak. Find out who it is and eliminate him," I could hear the king say during the conversation, which was interrupted as soon as they saw me enter the room, led by Fenrir. I hate the look of pity he always makes when he sees me.

"Ah, my dear uncle, if you only knew what I have prepared for you," I thought with determination.

"Magnus and his faithful squire. I thought you would make me wait longer," the king spoke with irony.

"My king knows that I am fond of sunbathing walks," I spoke with equal irony. I continue.

"My king, if I knew it was something serious, I would have come immediately," I replied, with a smile at the corner of my lips.

"Always so witty, walk come closer," he says ironically mocking my crippled condition.

"Of course," I replied, and Fenrir pushed me even closer, bringing me closer to him.

"I look at you and I see your father," the king said with a serious expression that was difficult to decipher.

"I imagine how difficult it must be," I replied, without showing emotion in my voice.

"I'll be direct. Your future wife is already in the castle," the king said, waiting for the nephew's reaction, since his brother was killed, he had taken care of him but had not sought to get close, but he always sought to know his steps, which were not many, a slight smile passed on his lips, but the boy had grown up and become a problem for him and for the Kingdom because he is cruel to his servants. He affronted him whenever he could, he needed to put a stop to it.

"I suppose I should accept your orders," I said, controlling my anger. The king looked at the prince in front of him and sighed deeply, aware that this would be a difficult conversation for both of them.

"Of course, considering your condition, blind and crippled," the king said seriously, trying to make his nephew remember his condition and accept his destiny.

"I regret to inform you that I don't want you to choose anything about my life," I growled, showing my teeth at him.

"Unfortunately, you are inside my castle and you will do as I command. You will marry, and it is already decided," the king said with a somber expression.

"Or what?" the prince challenges and continues: "This castle was never yours, it belonged to my father, and I am his heir. It's good that you don't forget that," I said firmly, letting all my anger show through. I could feel his pulse quicken and his breathing quicken.

"I don't forget that you are his son! So, my noble crippled and blind prince, you will accept your future wife," the king said, defiantly and added with disdain. "Considering that the first one has already rejected you, and now her sister is in her place," he added, descending the steps of the throne towards the prince.

"Do you think I'm not capable of getting a wife?" I asked, grinding my teeth with hatred. The king took a deep breath.

"Magnus, I made this decision only because of your condition. Understand, I chose someone from an excellent noble family," the king explained, trying to make me understand.

"I reject her! I already have one chosen," the prince said in a serious tone, making the king look at him in surprise, raising his eyebrow full of doubts.

"Oh, Magnus, don't make me laugh," the king said mockingly.

"Fenrir, take me away from here. Tomorrow, I will show her at the banquet. I will be able to choose my future wife," I affirmed, hoping he would take me away from the repugnant presence of my uncle.

"I ask permission to withdraw," I heard Fenrir ask, irritating me even more.

"You are dismissed, but I want you to bring your chosen one and her family tomorrow," the king ordered, returning to the throne once occupied by his brother, Cedric.

That afternoon, in the prince's room, Fenrir entered and locked the door, as usual. Magnus got up from his special support and walked around the room.

"Why did you ask permission at that time?" he asked angrily, his breath panting.

"He is my king, I must respect him" Upon hearing this, Magnus turned quickly and grabbed his friend by the neck, but he remained still.

"He is not your king," Magnus said releasing him as he adjusted his clothes.

"And I am not your enemy. I am just the son of a simple family," Fenrir stated.

"I know, I just lost control," the prince said, heading towards a secret passage that would lead them to a dense forest, far from the castle. Magnus looked at his friend and said:

"Let's go," assuming his form in the passage, along with his friend, they ran towards the exit.
