First Lecture

It's been a while after me and Tsuki parted ways from Ren and Lisa. The Academy was flipping huge. We walked around aimlessly for a good time, while looking for our class.

"What class are we?", Tsuki asked. I replied, "Class 2-A" in a I'm-so-done-rn tone. Right after I saw the sign, I held onto her sleeve. "I found it!" I exclaimed and dragged her to the entrance of the classroom. "Finally", I whispered to myself.

I turned to look at her and noticed that she seemed kind of flushed. "What's wrong?" I asked. I looked down and finally noticed that I was still holding onto her and immediately let go.

"Ah, sorry, I did that out of habit" I explained hurriedly. "It's fine", she said in a quiet tone. I was taken aback for a few seconds from the sight of this cheeky girl being shy. I'm not going to lie, it felt good seeing her like that. The corners of my lips raised as I started to have cheeky thoughts this time.

I let her walk ahead of me on purpose. I then leaned closer from behind her and whispered near her ears, "Who's shy now, huh?". I couldn't hide the smirk on my face. "I'M NOT SHY!" she yelled in a somewhat frustrated tone and proceeded to stomp away. I was satisfied from her reactions. It's fun to tease after being teased all day.

I followed after her and sat next to her. She didn't utter a single word but had a little pout on her face. It was adorable. It felt like I was watching a child throw a tantrum for the first time. I tried to contain any more of my cheekiness to tease this girl before things get real messy.

After a short while, the class started getting fuller. I guess Tsuki was really triggered by that. She didn't look at me once. I started to observe my surroundings. The white walls and purple carpet was an interesting choice for the classroom design. Just as I started to look at the people around, I noticed a familiar figure. It was Monika.

We exchanged eye contact and I subconsciously raised my hand to wave hi and quickly changed as I felt a rush of awkwardness and embarrassment hit me. I avoided looking at her direction after that. I ended up remembering the weird assembly and how she is leading a Displinary Committee.

I felt like maybe I should start keeping my distance. Just when I started thinking about this, the lecturer walked in and glared at us momentarily. The classroom went quiet really fast. It stayed like that for a while until the lecturer let out a big sigh and rubbed her temples as she flips through a few papers in her hand. "Executive Displinary Committee please!" said the lecturer in a cold voice.

Monika stands up, gaining attention and responded, "Yes ma'am!". The lecturer sets down the papers on her desk. "It seems there's a few people missing right now. You know what to do, right?" said the lecturer. The classroom was fully tense. "I understand ma'am", responded Monika and immediately walked out of the classroom. I guess being in the Displinary Committee is hard.

The lecturer steps forward and introduces herself. "Greetings class 2-A. I am Miss Reika Tsubasan. Refer to me as, Miss Reika from now on". She stares at us coldly. "In this class, you will be going over and study the human brain, in other times psychology!". After she finished her sentence, I felt a pain on my thigh. "Ow!" I said in pain out loud by accident. I immediately covered my mouth. Tsuki had pinched my thigh and made me make a weird noise as revenge. I immediately regretted teasing this girl, at this moment.

Miss Reika folds her arms, staring at me weirdly. "You there, what's your name?" she asks. I reply, "My name is Lee Jeon-suk, ma'am!".

"Lee Jeon-suk, huh?" she mutters under her breath. "Then, I take it that you understand the type of cognitive psychology there are" she asks me in a stern manner. I take a deep breath and try to use my brain in this moment. I answered, "I believe there is: cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, cognitive neuropsychology and computational cognitive science". She snickers and says, "Not bad for a newbie of the standard class". I thank her and bow. "Interesting. I would like you to write up a brief thesis about the cognitive psychology and submit it next week", she says while looking at me with a temporary grin. I respond with "I understand, ma'am" and sit back down. I look at Tsuki with an angry frustration as shes the one who got me into this situation.

I sat down the whole lecture avoiding any eye contact, thinking how I gor into this mess. Eventually the class had came to an end. Everyone looked at me pitifully. I walked across the classroom and that's when papers from the lecturers desk fell near my foot. I couldn't pretend not to notice, so I picked it all up, one by one and gave them to the lecturer. She stares at me and says, "You're one rare boy". I smiled at her but I was in reality just confused on what the hell she meant by that. As I walked out, I saw Monika walk back in the classroom, with a few strangers behind her. I guess she really did her job. That's impressive I thought to myself. I walked as fast as I could to get away from Tsuki. I was headed to the dorm. I felt incredibly stressed after today's lecture.

- In the classroom-

-Miss Reika's POV

"I brought them ma'am, just like you asked" said Monika. I replied to Monika, "Good job but I have another job for you". She accepts my commands. "I want you to look over the new guy, I think he said his name was Lee Jeon-suk". She asks me, "May I ask why ma'am?". I replied, "Don't ask, just do it. He's a very interesting boy. Now I will deal with these punks that dare miss my first lecture".

"Alright then, I will take my leave now, ma'am" Monika says before bowing to me and exiting. I nod in approvement and then stare at those who missed my lecture.
