ᯤ ⍴іᥒg — ¹ ⁿᵉʷ ⁿᵒᵗᶦᶠᶦᶜᵃᵗᶦᵒⁿ ʳᵉᶜᵉᶦᵛᵉᵈ

𝙽𝚘𝚠 𝚕𝚘𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚍𝚊𝚝𝚊. . .

「𝖲𝖳𝖮𝖱𝖸 𝖯𝖫𝖮𝖳 𝖲𝖳𝖠𝖱𝖳𝗌」 𝐄than 𝐏arker is nothing short of eccentric. One could say this is owed to his rather tragic backstory. Born to a diligent supermarket owner and a humble housewife, his origin was nothing remarkable to say the least. His family was alright. He had parents who loved him. He didn't have to compete for their attention either, being an only child. They weren't exactly swimming in wealth as expected of a family who ran a supermarket, but they had enough to get by. Most importantly, they had each other. Little Ethan couldn't ask for more.

His parents were his heroes. He always looked up to them. They taught him everything he knew. They were never mean to him. He thanked God for them every day. When people asked Little Ethan who he loved the most, he would say, ❝ 𝑑𝑎𝑑𝑑𝑦 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑚𝑢𝑚𝑚𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡 ❞

Everyone thought he was a bright child, one with great promise. He could understand the big words that most kids his age couldn't grasp. He had an affinity for maths and riddles and would always leave the grown-ups flabbergasted whenever he would solve problems that even they couldn't handle. He excelled in everything he did. At a young age, he was placed on a high pedestal. His parents couldn't be any prouder. They constantly showered him with all their love and affection. Little Ethan wanted this perfect utopia to last forever. He 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 it to last forever.

Only, fate had other plans because his utopia ended just as fast as it began...

It was a Friday evening. The clouds were slowly greying, hinting at the near fall of rain. The breeze that hour almost seemed desperate, as if it were trying to prevent what was sure to come, all to no avail. The Parker family's store, 𝗯its & 𝗽ieces, was just a couple minutes away from closing up for the day. The customers left were a sparse few. Mr Parker and his pregnant wife were in the middle of recording the day's sales when the store doors swung open, causing the bell to chime briefly. They paid little attention to it since they thought it just just another customer rushing to buy things before the store closed. They never anticipated the sudden rain that would befall the interior of their precious store. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything like the gradual increasing spurt of water that had just begun outdoors. No, this rain was a lot metallic and... life-threatening.

On the news broadcast later that night, it looked like a scene from a horror movie. The entire town was shaken to the bones. The bodies discovered had multiple holes drilled into them. Some were missing organs, others were missing appendages. It made everyone watching the news wonder just who exactly were the psychopaths that raided 𝗯its & 𝗽ieces. Not a single person was spared, including the store's owners.

The boy genius was left dumbfounded. One moment, he was over at his neighbor's house, waiting for his parents to come home from the store, and the next, he was being discarded in an orphanage. He couldn't understand what was going on. Where were his parents? Why was nobody telling him anything? Why was he being abandoned? Did he do something bad? Little Ethan wanted answers. Alas, the only crumb of information he was eventually given by his father's older sister was that she was going to be holding on to his parent's assets for him until he came of age.

He never heard from her after that night, or anyone else from that little town he grew up in.

The home of his perfect utopia that got turned into his worst nightmare, with the pull of a trigger.

𝐄than 𝐏arker is nothing short of eccentric. He got separated from his parents at a young age and was dumped in an orphanage out of nowhere. Once upon a time, he had two loving parents and a place to call home, but now, he has no one to call family, save the decent few he met there in the orphanage. He was once dubbed the child of promise, but now, he's just someone who wants to live long enough to uncover the mystery behind his parents' disappearance.

Other kids seemed to have better luck than him because he watched them get picked for adoption, one after the other, but it never came to his turn. He guessed no one wanted the depressed, sickly-looking kid. He was fine with it for the main time. No one could replace his parents, he told himself that. Though, as much as he tried, he wasn't strong enough to fend off the tears of loneliness and dejection at night, so he cried himself to sleep every time.

But like everything else, life goes on. So does time, likewise, age.

The years dealt their due to 𝐄than, remodeling him into a working man in his mid 20s doing his part to survive, like everyone else. His current job holds no flame to the dreams he had as a kid, regardless, one good thing is that the tragedy that befell his family is nothing but a distant memory to him now. He can't even remember the sound of his father's laugh or the feeling of his mother's warm hugs. He's decided to take that as a good thing. He'd be better off that way. . . without all that trauma. 「𝖲𝖳𝖮𝖱𝖸 𝖯𝖫𝖮𝖳 𝖤𝖭𝖣𝗌」
