Episode 3

On a sidewalk near Manhattan, New York City, a beautiful woman in a slightly revealing black dress and a cream jacket covering her upper body stood with a puzzled face, glancing at the glowing screen of her phone.

"What app is this?" she murmured, holding on to the application that had popped up unexpectedly.

This peculiar app appeared like a virus that infiltrated her phone just as she switched it on and unlocked it.

She had attempted several times to delete the odd app, but it would always reinstate itself after each removal attempt.

Furrowing her brows in frustration, she muttered to herself, "Why can't this app be deleted?! What even is it? And where did it come from?!"

Her determined fingers continued to try to eliminate it, surpassing ten attempts, but each time, the app would reappear mere seconds later.

"Could this be some kind of virus?"

The woman's day grew tense, and she quickly began brainstorming for a solution to this bizarre issue.

An idea struck her, and she instantly pressed the restart button on her phone's screen. Her phone powered off and rebooted, hoping to clear the virtual intrusion.

With no other options, she had to turn off her phone, hoping the strange application would vanish.

"I just hope this app disappears before my friends get here."

Yet, when her phone rebooted, her eyes still caught sight of the annoying app's logo on her device.

Her internal anger peaked, but she was powerless against this persistent digital adversary.

Curiosity got the better of her, drawing her to press the peculiar "Rental Boyfriend" app that was oddly alluring, complete with a logo featuring a handsome man whom she'd never seen before.

Hesitantly, she tapped the app, wanting to see what it was all about.

Simultaneously, a notification obscured the odd app's view. It was a message from her friends who'd planned to meet up.

"Cancelled?! What was the point of me waiting here then?!" Her face turned even more sour upon learning her friends had called off their gathering due to last-minute issues.

As she seethed without replying to their message, her attention was drawn back to the strange app she had just opened.

"Rent a boyfriend?" A smirk tugged at the corner of her mouth.

"Rather than head home all dressed up for nothing, why not test out this strange app," the woman pondered with a newfound brightness. "I'm curious if it's a scam or not. If so, I won't hesitate to report it to the authorities."

When she noticed the app resembled a game with a "Start" button, doubt flickered in her chest.

"This is odd."

Her finger pressed the "Start" button, and a form querying the type of boyfriend she was seeking surfaced.

Text appeared mid-screen.

[Please enter your desired boyfriend characteristics!]

As the message faded away, a new application interface displayed a plethora of options, ranging from height, basic handsome features, high-level handsome, to super handsome, various skin colors, a choice between a sexy or delicate demeanor, desirable skills, and much more.

Her lips curved in amusement. "An intriguing application. Let's see if it can deliver the man of my desires."

With that, her fingers danced over the selection list, matching her preferences.

She entered the rental period she desired.

Considering it was still morning, with plenty of time ahead, she opted for just 10 hours.

"Only forty-six dollars? That's quite cheap."

Surprised at the affordable rate matching her desires, the woman considered the rental fee a bargain.

Next, she confirmed the booking by entering her payment details and hitting the "order now" button.

[Rent request processing!]

[Order successful! $46 has been charged!]

[Please wait! Your ordered man will arrive in 3 minutes!]

"Alright. I'll be waiting for him right here."

The woman nodded with a smile, standing leisurely on the bustling sidewalk.

The quirky app had already collected her basic information, including name, phone number, age, and had requested a photo to ensure the man she ordered could identify her.

Additionally, it asked for her current location to be entered.

She complied with all requests, figuring it was to enable a speedy meet-up with her ordered man.

If the app proved deceptive, she had no qualms about pursuing legal action.

Actually, even if it wasn't necessary, the app had only charged her $50, a minor sum.

Before she knew it, 3 minutes had flown by, and she patiently awaited the arrival of the man she had rented.

"Hello, are you Callie Ava?"

A man's rather ordinary voice reached her ears.

Instinctively, her head turned to see who was calling her.

As she glanced to her side, she laid eyes on a dashing man standing next to her with a gentle smile.

Her pupils dilated, and her heart skipped a beat.

"You?"

"I'm Vino, the rental boyfriend you requested."

Vino arrived punctually, albeit after navigating some distance from where Callie was standing.

Callie, who had rented Vino, was his very first customer.

"Eh?" Upon hearing Vino's response, Callie was visibly astounded and stared at him in disbelief. "Are you really from this app?"

"Um, yes. I'm here because of the order you placed a little while ago." Vino nodded confidently as he looked into Callie's eyes.

Callie's cascading hair down to her shoulders looked enchanting, and the contours of her figure were too distracting for Vino to gaze at directly.

A broad grin emerged on Callie's face, and she casually looped her left arm around Vino's, saying, "Well then, you're my boyfriend as of now."

"As per your order, Callie," Vino replied with a nod.

"No-no, you're going to call me something else. I want you to call me by a 'Pet Name' you choose."

"Pet Name? You mean like an animal name?"

With her cheeks turning red, Callie tightened her grip on Vino's muscular arm. "No, that's not what it means. I mean, call me by an endearing name."

Scratching his temple, Vino queried, "Is that necessary?"

Clearly, Vino appeared out of his element.

Rather than being upset, Callie found herself endeared by Vino's innocence and longed to plant a kiss on his unassuming cheek.

"It's necessary, now that you're my boyfriend for the next few hours."

"Um... okay, Honey."

When Vino uttered that, a flush of red tinted Callie's cheeks, and her embrace on Vino's solid arm tightened.

"Now you accompany me for a stroll around New York City; we're going to have a great time together today, Honey."

Callie began to lead an inexperienced and slightly awkward Vino towards Midtown Manhattan.

They made a striking pair, a handsome man and a beautiful woman walking side by side.

"I have a question for you. Why choose to be a rental boyfriend? You're incredibly good-looking, your handsomeness is quite exceptional."
