Chapter Two: The Kings

Somewhere inside a dimly lit hall, was a fair girl with a shoulder length blonde hair, dyed black and pink. She wore a thick black lipstick on her lips and mascara. She had sparkly sea green eyes and her slightly dyed hair was tied up int a high ponytail. She wore a brown kneecap joggers, a shorthand black vest. A jean jacket was tied to her slim waist and on her feet were a pair of sneakers. She looked posh and eye-catching from all angles. She was leaning on a locker in the company of two other guys. One of the guys had a cigar, the other guy was on his phone. The girl was anxiously waiting for the remaining members of the gang to gather together.

Not too long after, two other guys and another sexy looking girl walked in with a nerd on Harry Potter glasses. the nerd was covered in bruises. Apart from the nerdy guy, the gang was finally complete.

Introducing the gang;

The blonde haired girl was Paige Benson, and the sexy girl with long white witch hair and hazel eyes was Gemma White. The guy holding a lit cigar and smoking it was Tyler Lakes, an affluent second generation rich heir that was not to be messed with. The Gang leader was the guy on the phone, Kendrick O'Brian, The hottest guy in the college, the craziest but, also the most quiet person in their crew. Kendrick was one of the top three Hottest hunks on the school's ranking list, and next to him was another member of the gang, Justin Starford. He was holding up the bruised nerd. Justin was Kendrick's best friend, His high rate on the ranking list came from his cuteness. He was the most lively member of the gang and the most bloodthirsty. And finally, the last member, Greg Allen, he did all the dirty work in the gang. This popular gang was known as The Kings. It was well sought after in college and known for protecting it's members. No one dared to cross their path. Unfortunately, the nerd was a new student and was yet to know the identity of the person he had messed with. Tyler Lakes, the most dangerous member of The Kings.

Greg let go of the nerdy boy's collar and he dropped on the floor on a kneeling position before Tyler. The rest of the Gang surrounded him. The atmosphere was airy and ominous. After puffing out another ring if smoke, Tyler glanced at the nerd indifferent.

"hey! look up."

The nerd was trembling from head to toe and wasted time raising his head up, so Tyler crouched down and forcefully pulled his chin up.

"are you messing with me?"

"no......never..I...I don't dare to....I'm sorry I'm really sorry. I know my wrong." the poor guy stammered, sweating profusely.

"you do?.... hahahaha," Tyler stood up laughing,"you had so much guts back then, you actually asked me what I would do to you if you didn't move out of the way. So brave huh?" as he spoke he retrieved a gun from his back pocket. That's right, he had a gun!!! Kendrick exchanged glances with Justin and he left to answer a fake phonecall.

The boy's eyes widened with fear and he hurriedly knotowed. "Sir...I mean....boss. it wo...won't happen ever again....I swear, it won't", he nearly peed in his pants on seeing a gun.

"but...I really want to kill someone....I just don't know if someone will accept it," he said his eyes darting towards the blonde haired girl by his side.

"Enough of scaring him, Lakes I'm getting bored. Same old."

Justin smirked and threw an amused look at Paige,"aren't you gonna say something?"

Paige rolled her eyes arrogantly, "suit yourself, I'm not going to jail anyway for murder". Tyler smirked and kicked the nerd hard on his leg, "you hear that, she doesn't want me to go to jail. Get your filthy *** outta here!" The nerd quickly got up, knotowed to Paige and limped out of the environment hurriedly.

The gang flew into a prolonged silence..

"um....guys, I'm leaving for class. see you all later, I'm off." Paige said with a wide smile and walked out of the house. As she was leaving the building she lost her balance, and was caught by Kendrick. He helped her up, "why? why are you still doing this? You shouldn't have said anything, anyone else could have spoken up for that guy". Paige turned her already pale face to him," it's not like I have a choice. He won't listen to anyone else". She freed herself from his hold subconsciously and walked away weakly. As she walked in the lecture hall, she acted strong and released her signature smile. She was known as the popular Queen Bee In college. Her smile was a form of deceit for those who didn't know her. Just as she sat down and picked up a book, she heard a beep. She pulled out her phone from the pocket of her joggers. It was a brief and simple message from not just anyone, but her best friend Jenna Evario. The message read:

Hi Paige, guess what? I met Ralph today and he's still as handsome as ever. And we're relocating to Berlin this weekend, and I'm studying at your college, Brighton College. I'm really looking forward to seeing you there. Send my greetings to your friends over there, I'm sure they'll love me as much as you do. muacks.

As she read, her blood pumped faster with excitement, but at the end of the text, she got worried. What would Jenna do if she discovered that she *Paige* was in some gang that was dangerous. She knew Jenna so well, that she wouldn't sit still. Jenna, her bestie may be a bit of a nerd, but she sure was a troublemaker. She tried so hard to brain wash herself that Jenna might have dropped that attitude but the sinking feeling refused to budge. Forget it, anyway she wouldn't let anything happen to Jenna on her watch and she could plead with Kendrick to keep an eye on her too.

"Paige." a charming voice that sent chills into her body arrived at the moment. She raised her distracted head hastily to face Tyler who was sitting on her desk nonchalantly. "Ah Tyler...Any problem?" she asked suspiciously. What did this great Buddha want from her again.*you keep forgetting my temple is too small to accommodate you* she thought internally. Who would dare say no to him. He simply did what he wanted.

"Go out with me,"

"huh.......where?"

"Brooklyn Bar"

Paige stiffened abruptly,"no!....I'm sorry but, I won't go there."

"But I want you to go with me or......do you hate hanging out with me that much?" His eyes narrowed dangerously.

"no Tyler, it's not what you think. It's like this I'm really busy with school projects a.....and I need to be back in my room right now. Take Gemma with you or any of the others. I'll be leaving now". She said stone faced, she had never forgotten her first experience stepping into that bar. Before Tyler could say another word to her, she bolted out of the hall. There was nothing in the class for her to do anyway.

Unknown to her, Tyler's infatuated eyes followed behind her. *you better not be lying to me Paige* he thought *and you can't run from me either*.
