The next day, Song jingli drove with Fang Hui-Fen to the company as usual but this time, they were both silent as they were deep in their thoughts. When they arrived at the company, Song jingli dropped her off after they left the car and gave her a silent 'goodbye'. Fang Hui-Fen stared at the retreating back of Song jingli and frowned as she felt a cold sensation in her heart. It wasn't until Song jingli was no longer in sight that Fang Hui-Fen moved her body.

When she entered her office, her cherry assistant popped herself right in front of her. The girl was bubbly with excitement and it seemed like she had really good news. Fang Hui-Fen smiled a little at the little girl and said "Good morning little Lu Ai, what's the excitement about?"

The girl, Lu Ai was practically bouncing as she asked "Miss Fang, haven't you received the news yet?" "Not really what is it?" Fang Hui-Fen asked interested. "We got the project!!" Lu Ai said most excitedly and there was invisible confetti sprayed behind her. "What project?" Fang Hui-Fen asked confused.

The excited girl halted as she looked at her superior in shock. "Miss Fang, how do you not know about the project the entire company was trying to scout for an entire two months?!" "Ah,..." She looked as if she got a moment of realization as she said.. "Oh that project, I heard a little about it from CEO Song. sorry I haven't been paying attention to it because I was focused on my current project." Fang Hui-Fen explained apologetically.

"Miss Fang, you and CEO Song literally live with eachother and you always know about the important projects...... did something happen?" The girl asked suspiciously. Fang Hui-Fen smiled and thought 'Wow my Xiao Ai, you're really smart' "Dear Xiao Ai, don't worry too much. I really was just too busy and so was he so we didn't interact much the last month." "oh?" Lu Ai raised her brows seemingly finding something odd about Fang Hui-Fen's tone.

Her arrogant boss sounded oddly full of melancholy which contracted her usual behaviour. As Lu Ai was about to ask about it, Fang Hui-Fen said "....Or, what else were you thinking? did you think we argued?" Fang Hui-Fen asked with a smirk on her face , wiping out her former odd expression.

Lu Ai chuckled and shook her head seeing that. She was probably overthinking.

In the general meeting room

All of the directors and managers from different departments were all seated in there. it seemed like the meeting would be important. They were all seated whispering is hushed tones as they didn't know what they were all needed for.

As they were speaking, the general director, walked in and they all stood up from their seats in respect.

Aside from Fang Hui-Fen being the the highest director in the company and held the the most power besides the CEO himself, she was also a major shareholder and was the CEO's wife so she was treated with a heavy amount of regard and respect in the company.

Her performance also spoke for her vastly and she got to her position without any external parties like her husband's power which made people respect her even more. She was a strong and intellectual woman and despite any obstacles, she had grasped many important projects for the company and had always worked in the company's favour and none could find fault with her.

As Fang Hui-Fen walked in, she was greeted and her assistant held certain documents in her hand and led her to her seat. Her eyes skimmed around the room and saw that everyone was as confused as she was about the sudden meeting. They had just grasped an important project, was this a congratulatory meeting? Or was it another important project? Was there a problem with the company that needed their upmost attention?

Possible reasons went through her mind as everyone else stood from their seats.

The CEO had arrived.

Fang Hui-Fen also stood from her seat as she looked at the Ice-cold man in front of herself. Built with a tall frame with long legs and a chiseled face, his hair brown and his eyes a light brown. Usually looking as soft as the the breeze of spring, the working side of him made her heart race as much as it scared her a little.

Song jingli went to the seat in front of the long table and sat in front as everyone held their breath waiting for him to speak.

Song jingli opened his mouth and said "It's been quite a while since we had been fighting for this project and we have finally won. congratulations to all!"

Everyone sighed in relief. It was after all a congratulatory meeting. They all echoed the words "congratulations" with proud smiles on their faces.

Amidst their happiness, The CEO's voice rang again "There is however another reason you've all been summoned here." They all looked starstruck as.

"Whilst our company has indeed been very successful with or former project, we have to keep up in the boat or Yifeng corporation might really steal the bait!" As he said this, his assistant went up to the projector and when it turned on, Yifeng corporation finance charts were listed in front of them! Because of the former project, Yifeng, who had also done a lot to get that project had a although rather insignificant drop in their finance.

Although insignificant, It did not go unnoticed by thier rival company who had always wanted to find a loop in thier work and waited to suppress them.

Although, a pretty powerful company himself, he was facing a conflict of interest with the CEO of Yifeng corporation. No matter how anyone looked over it, everyone knew that it was something private so they never asked about it. Overall, they were glad to be riding on the industry's top spot though they were always hogged by Yifeng corporation!
