Episode 5

Life had been cruel to me until this point, but I couldn't let everything end that way. I had to fight. There was nothing else left to be taken from me. Everything had been stolen, everything torn away from me. My mother, love, a family, and my innocence. The only thing remaining was my life. How ironic, but it was the last grain I had to protect.

I headed towards my father's competition, yes, he is my father, but for years he had sidelined me to play the role of the perfect family. For years, he had decided to ignore me and made sure his family enjoyed everything that mom left behind. So much so that his daughter lacks my values. If she is allowed to forget them, why couldn't I?

With a body in pain and marked like an animal, I made my way to a place I never thought I'd enter. I didn't have an appointment, and my clothes left much to be desired, but it was the only card I could play.

After begging the secretary and almost getting thrown out by security a few hours later, I managed to secure a meeting with Claudio Vitman. He didn't hesitate to observe me from head to toe, and yes, indeed, I appeared to be a vulgar woman covered in scars, both physically and mentally. But I couldn't go home and change. My phone was dead and time was running out, as the gorilla's van was following me.

I was more than desperate, and all I had to offer were the shares that belonged to me in the company. I wanted to wipe the smile off their faces and take back what was rightfully mine. If it wasn't for that crazy person, maybe I would have stayed to witness their expressions when they realized their plan had been in vain.

Mr. Claudio pondered for a while, and with each passing second, I grew increasingly nervous. He kept questioning whether it was some dirty game orchestrated by my father.

I ended up confessing that my fiance was cheating on me and wanted to take control of the shares, which is why I urgently needed to get rid of them. Even though he didn't fully believe my words, it was surprisingly easy to persuade him. But I needed another favor.

He was a powerful person and could help me escape this situation. I needed a new identity and the ability to start my life elsewhere. I had the money, but I couldn't just go around asking people who could provide me with a new identification.

He seemed surprised by my request, but I pretended it was part of my revenge, that I was a jilted bride who couldn't stay here any longer, and with the substantial amount of money my fiance's family had, they would quickly find me and force me into marriage.

He had to help me, especially since I had done him a favor too. I had given him the opportunity to overthrow my father and his company from within. It was only a matter of time before they paid for what they had done to me.

Two hours later, I had my new identity—Isabella Parker, a lovely name, by the way.

Now, only the final touch remained.

I had enough time to charge my phone while I was in Mr. Claudio's office. As I left the office with money in my new account, all that was left was to deliver the final blow. They wouldn't see me again, or at least not for a long time.

I rehearsed what I planned to say for a while and began making the necessary calls. To my mother, asking her to silently pack one of my suitcases with the essentials. To my imbecile fiance, pretending that I had been robbed so he would come to my father's house. And to his parents, telling them I had a surprise for their son. This was going to be very interesting.

When I arrived home, the first person to receive me was my father. There was something in his eyes that I couldn't decipher, but one thing I did know was the look of anger he had when he noticed my body. However, he didn't have time to say anything, as my eager fiance quickly walked towards me, becoming astonished as he saw every mark on my body, my skimpy dress, and the faint smell of alcohol still emanating from me. Behind him, Irina didn't take even two seconds to start the scandal, recognizing her dress.

It was shameless; I picked out a dress, and she rolled around with my boyfriend. My mother witnessed the scene, with a victoriously smug expression, berating my father for how he raised me. I really don't know who the shameless one is, her or her daughter.

Ethan started demanding answers, questioning why I was wearing the dress, if the thieves did something to me, why I didn't answer my phone, and countless other questions.

I started laughing; he was a damn good actor. If I hadn't heard it myself, I would never have believed what he did to me. I stared at him for a moment, wondering what really attracted me to him. Maybe it was his looks, but truth be told, I was the one proposing everything - the dates, living together, the rings. How foolish I was not to realize that he never loved me, never showed interest in anything related to our relationship. On the other hand, he started spending more time with Irina, helping her with workshops or studying for university exams.

I laughed at myself, at how stupid I was, at how everyone had been fooling me this whole time. My father, in order to secure an alliance with Ethan's family. Those vipers, reveling in their queenly lives through my actions. And Ethan, wanting to take everything from me. I stood before the grandest ensemble my eyes could behold, but my moment to act had arrived as well.

The moment had come, so let's begin.
