“Alex… Eleanor… I have to let her go” The king said as he looked at only one thing. He was very immersed in his thoughts that he walked like a corpse. As he passed by the queen, she was about to greet him but he walked pass by.
She was silent and looked at his back with surprise. He had never ignored her in his whole life. His priority and attention is always her. Just her. And her attention was always him. Just him her whole life.
Though she had felt bored by his silly jokes, she wanted to find someone new. But her heart… is confused. Whom does she love? Does she really love him? Does she only sought his attention? The way he looks at her? His sweet words and kisses?
“Your majesty, these girls need a home. I heard you are very kind, I hope you give them comfortable place to sleep in” Alex begged as he introduced ten girls to him. They are all dirty and young and indeed, the king was kind to let them in. Who cares about rumors? He’s already discarded anyway.
The girls spent their nights and days safely at his castle. But… who would have expected that the queen would hear about it? She doesn’t love him anymore anyway. What’s the use of my begging of attention? It would make me seem like a dog.
Back to the present…
The divorce is coming. It’s processed and he is leaving. Hearing the maids whisper about it, Eleanor feels sad. It felt like she’s being abandoned even though she was the one who did it. Why does he need to make her feel like that? She’s confused.
As their gazes met each other, Christian walked slowly to her wearing a dull black suit that wasn’t to her taste. He wore a serious expression instead of a happy one as if accepting their divorce. Did he lose feelings? That easily?
“I wanted to make things clear from you. I never cheated. Those girls were slaves introduced by Alex. I made them stay to help them survive. I never slept with any of them. I… I’m sorry for everything. I know you don’t love me anymore. So… This is the last Bouquet I would give you.” Christian said as he handed a bouquet of flowers.
“Goodbye” he only said as he turned around and walked away. The queen stood there in regret. She looked at his back. For the first time, he didn’t look bright to her. He looked like… the person she loves.
Every step he took, it reminded her of his flowers.
Ah, I was wrong. I lost such a man so precious. I lost the one I love. I'm a stupid queen.
Even though I regret it, I didn’t swallow my pride and watch him leave not even telling my feelings. I’m truly… pathetic.
