“I heard you the first time,” I say loudly, “Is this some kind of joke?!”

Sapphire gets up and leaves the room in an orderly fashion.

Dragging my feet across the floor, I walk towards my bed and just fall forward, planting my face into the mattress.

I rollover and stare blankly into the ceiling.

I get up and grab my crossover bag. I enchanted the bag to carry more things inside and start shoving only things I need and things I can sell if I run out of money.

I change into new clothes and wait until it is late within the night, when the moon is high into the sky.

Suddenly, clouds cover the moonlight and I suddenly realize, it is 2am.

I open my window and make myself comfortable on the ledge. Looking down, I get ready to cast my spell.

Placing my hand out, palm down, I take a small breath in, “Wind,” feeling the breeze circle my hand, “Catch my fall and let me break in.”

I lean forward to fall and suddenly, a gust of wind comes and catches me within its grasp. Fixing my posture, I place my feet on the ground and stand up. The wind releases me gently and I bow.

[Thank you.]

Before leaving, I look back up at my window and point my finger to flick it closed.

[No evidence left behind.]

Then cast a ‘no trace spell” on myself that will last for 30mins so ensure my escape.

[30 minutes is all I need..!]

I set off Westward to anywhere but here towards our lands boarder.

I reached the boarder and before walking over, I put wear the ring that I enchanted.

I enchanted it to hide 70% of my power to ensure my safe travels to live somewhere far away from my family and be ‘normal’ finally. Taking a deep breath, I exhale slowly and walk across the boarder and make my way westward to freedom.

I keep walking until I come across a river and decided to follow it down stream.

[I’m pretty sure that it leads to a town or village somewhere.]

As I walk along the river down stream, I start to hear sounds that become louder slowly as I keep walking.

[Should I keep going..? Should I not?]

Then I stop.

[Let’s think of all the possible outcomes. It could be dangerous but it’s not like I don’t have magic so I’ll be fine with only 30 but... What if someone’s in trouble? Does that mean I have to save them? Hmmmm, or even worse, it’s my family and they found out I ran away..!! Nope- highly doubt that. Even Brother Percy isn’t that skilled in tracking magic. Alrighty. I’ve decided that it’s just nonsense and I can face it head on.]

Walking towards the sound, I pass by the bushes ahead of me and see a group of mercenaries. We have a stare down as I just stand here and they are sitting there.

I smile and say, “Would you guys happen to know where the closest town is from here?”

They just stare blankly at me in confusion.

“Okay,” I exclaim, “I’ll just be on my way..!”

“AFTER HER!!!”

I start running and soon enough, all 8 of them come chasing me down in no time. I start to run as if my life depended on it and then I hear them yelling.

“CATCH HER!”

“WE CAN SELL HER FOR MONEY!!!”

“HURRY!!! THE FASTER WE FINISH THIS, THE SOONER WE CAN RETURN TO THE MOUNTAINS!!”

[Wait- Mountains?!]

I stop myself and prepare for battle by cracking my fingers and stretching a bit.

[Step 1....]

I hear foot steps coming from behind coming to a halt from running to walking slowly as I hear them all chuckle.

“What’s wrong little lady,” one of the says hysterically, “ran out of breath?”

They all start laughing out loud outrageously as if I was caught by them already.

“Oh no,” as I turn around with a smile on my face, “whatever shall I do...?”

They stare at me as if I was crazy and stupid. As they prepare their ropes and knives to catch me, I suddenly lite a fireball in my hand and all their faces go pale from the sight.

“Ma-ma-ma-magic....!!”

2 of them fall from terror as if they saw a monster for the first time while the others struggle with words and froze still.

“So guys,” I say cheerfully holding a fireball in my hand, “I have a proposition for you all... if you would like hear it. What do you say\~?”

I stare at them with a mischievous look on my face as theirs turned even whiter from the fear of becoming charcoal.
