Jungkook ends up taking a detour to a beach after Taehyung makes an offhand comment about always wanting to go to one.
Since it's early in the morning they are the only ones there.
Jungkook sits on the trunk of the car, eating a sandwich as he watches Taehyung kick up sand and stomp around in the shallow water.
It warms his heart to see Taehyung having fun.
Jungkook plans on doing everything in his power to make sure that Taehyung always has a smile on his face even bigger than the one he is wearing currently.
Taehyung
Jungkookie hyung!
Taehyung
Come play with me!
Jungkook yells before hurriedly eating the rest of his sandwich and sliding off the car.
He then runs over to Taehyung who giggles as he splashes water at his hyung.
A short time later, they are on the road again.
The two of them sing together loudly to a song on the radio as they continue toward their destination.
In just a couple more hours they'll be in Gwangju, far away from Yudok and able to start their lives anew.
The wail of a siren cuts through their revelry.
Jungkook's eyes dart to the rearview mirror where he sees a police car behind them.
A wave of nausea and panic rushes through him. He forces his breathing to even out as he pulls onto the side of the road.
Taehyung
Are we in trouble?
The human puts a comforting hand on the tiny tiger hybrid's shoulder.
Jungkook
Everything will be okay.
Jungkook manages to sound convincing even though he doesn't believe it himself.
A knock on the window shifts his attention to the police officer standing at the door.
Jungkook rolls down the window.
Officer
Do you know why I pulled you over?
Jungkook asks, hope swimming in his voice. He'd probably be let off with a warning if he's lucky.
Either way, that's a better outcome than--
Officer
This vehicle matches that of a car that has been reported stolen.
He's too shocked to speak, to try to talk himself out of it.
The officer looks over at the scared tiger hybrid in the passenger seat.
Officer
And the tiger cub hybrid that was reported stolen as well.
Jungkook
Officer, I can explain--
Officer
Sir, I'm going to ask you to exit the vehicle and keep your hands where I can see them.
Officer
I won't ask you again.
Officer
Get out of the car!
